Okay, this is getting silly.

People are saying they don't want Kiffin because he couldnt win in OAKLAND. Come on people, its Oakland...Bear Bryant couldn't win in Oakland right now.

Same with Butch Davis. His record with Cleveland wasn't that good, but he did take them to the playoffs. Yes, Cleveland, to the playoffs.

All i'm saying is we shouldn't be judging these candidates based on what they did or did not do in the NFL. Some of the best college coaches of all time couldn't get it done in the NFL. Look at Steve Spurrier, Nick Saban, Pete Carrol all of those guys I think we would take in a heartbeat (maybe not spurrier) and none of them could do squat in the NFL.

Lastly, good NFL coaches do not come to coach college teams, thus Gruden is a bad pick. At least we know Kiffin and Butch can recruit the heck out of kids, and that is what college football is all about.

Right. But Saban, Davis, Petrino, Spurrier...even going back to Holtz were proven winners as HC's at the college level before the NFL. Kiffin has never been a head coach at the college level.

Can't argue that, but you can't deny what he did at USC. He was the OC for one of the best teams ever, and his offense broke tons of records.

I think if Kiffin had any type of head coaching success in college or the NFL for that matter I think he would already be hired.

All i'm saying is we shouldn't say he isn't a good coach or whatever just because he didn't win in Oakland.

You can't deny what Ed Orgeron did at USC either...

Lane Kiffin = Mike Shula (-) a love for his University (+) a poor record as H.C. (+) a presently active NFL coach for a dad(vs. retired for Shula). Didn't take bama long not to like that situation.....

You seem to forget that Pete Carrol was a flop as an NFL head coach and he's doing pretty good at the NCAA level.
