Omari Thomas and this year's Memphis Connection recruiting class might be ..."the corner is in sight" recruiting class. We ain't turned that corner but we can see it. You know I was watching the SEC Channel and they was talking about the "Orange Mound" section of Memphis and its culture/food. Sounds like a natural connection
As bad as I hate to say it--it's going to be hard to out-recruit Kiffin in Memphis from here on out. He will probably own Memphis.

Don’t know if any of you have seen the AA game practices or not but he appears to be a beast. It appears the AA O-linemen he’s practicing against can’t handle him very well.
I’d whip him, but nice to have him. 🤣

I don't know the exact distance........475 miles sounds about right from UT to Memphis so we're looking at 3 SEC West schools that are closer than us and about 3 more are about the same. I'm not going to check every team's roster but UT has quite a few players from Memphis on their roster so it's apparent that we're getting our share of quality players from that area. It's been rumored that Mike Norvell may try and hire away David Johnson (?), not quite sure of our RB coaches name, but he's our leading recruiter in the Memphis area. UT just needs to continue trending up in the win column while the current crop of Memphis players on the team play well and UT will continue having it's foot in the door in recruiting. Sc#*w Lame !

OM was the beginning of the heart of Memphis basketball FYI. No air conditioning.

The mound aint where the talent is right now its The Haven. Melrose (the only high school in orange mound) aint been good since Craig Cooper. The connection is the Haven. They are built on tough inner city kids an have become an SEC factory. U can find gifted athletes anywhere in the city but if u are looking to build a pipeline then Coach Saulsberry is the key. The kids at Whitehaven literally play in the same system from youth football all the way through high school its almost like a baseball farm system.

I hope he’ll be great but every time I get excited about one of our commits dominating in these all star practices, I think back to Kahlil Mckenzie 😔 however I do feel as our staff now are much better developers of talent, particularly defensive talent, than the staff that recruited Kahlil
