Omaha: Who’s Been?

Went last year, had to stay in Lincoln but not a bad drive. I had an absolutely great time even though we lost. Definitely worth it. Hope to be back this year too, watching the Vols!

I'd like to see baseball drop the term "world series." I'd love to know who coined that term. It's ingrained now--but it's always been a super-silly and bizarre name for a U.S. championship tourney--on in the case of MLB, a championship contest--that is domestic and as no international aspect whatsoever.

Welp, I never uploaded it , It was played during each game's 7th inning stretch, and on the final espn broadcast on Friday (cbs did the championship games then)) I have a CD copy and the VHS (LOL) tape of the broadcast. Do NOT go to any day games the Vols aren’t playing in unless you are very strategic with your seat selection. You will literally burn your a$$ off.

I’m planning on taking my daughter to Omaha to watch the opening games of the CWS. (No, I’m not assuming the Vols make it as this has been a bucket list item for a long time, so we’re going regardless). It would of course be extra special if the Vols make it . With that said, I’d appreciate any do’s and don’ts, recommendations, places to stay, restaurants, things to do, etc. I’ve heard it’s a spectacular experience.

I usually stay at the Embassy Suites in La Veta. Good sports bar down the street. Big Red Country naturally but good folks.
