He's pointing out that those who rushed the court satisfied their need to celebrate...at the cost of a half-mil. I understand the jubilation, the desire to be part of the victory, to touch the hero-players but the bottom line is this is a dangerous practice and the fines are appropriate.Who is their AD pointing the finger at by calling selfish? What a dipshit
Ok, but it’s HIS responsibility. He’s the AD.He's pointing out that those who rushed the court satisfied their need to celebrate...at the cost of a half-mil. Also, Brakefield was waving his fellow students onto the court. Is the AD calling him selfish too?
You can do like Missouri and Georgia did and announce it as the end of game nears to not storm the courtIt may be his responsibility, but there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop a few hundred or thousand fans storming the court. There isn’t enough security on a college campus to keep that from happening if those students are really committed to doing it. Once a few leak through the damn breaks and the rest typically follow.
Impossible for the AD to stop them so no, he is not responsible for their foolishness. And Brakefield and the players don’t care. It’s not their money. The fines are absolutely deserved.Ok, but it’s HIS responsibility. He’s the AD.

Right, the Atheltic Dept pays, it’s the Athletic Director who is ultimately responsible. That’s why he gets paid the big bucks! Yet he’s blaming the students. Weak!Impossible for the AD to stop them so no, he is not responsible for their foolishness. And Brakefield and the players don’t care. It’s not their money. The fines are absolutely deserved.
And pray tell O wise one, how is the AD going to stop several hundred students from rushing the floor? The students are responsible for their conduct and the fine and nobody else.Right, the Atheltic Dept pays, it’s the Athletic Director who is ultimately responsible. When I was in school, the NCAA tourney was here for the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds and the E8 game between St John’s and Ohio State went down to the wire. They spread us across the court so k was literally kneeled in the side of the court watching the ending of a great E8 game, which was an incredible experience! However, I had the exact same thought as you. There was no way we would stop the crowd and I sure wasn’t going to try. Never happened anyway though. And pray tell O wise one, how is the AD going to stop several hundred students from rushing the floor? An NCAAT crowd’s allegiances are so spread out without a large concentration of students that there would never be a court storm in this day and age. Plus, the NCAA overloads the court security presence during championship events that even if anyone tried to rush the court they would be immediately thrown to the ground and carted away. When I was in school, the NCAA tourney was here for the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds and the E8 game between St John’s and Ohio State went down to the wire. Well, this seemed to work.It may be his responsibility, but there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop a few hundred or thousand fans storming the court. A little different than 25 years ago. I’m old.An NCAAT crowd’s allegiances are so spread out without a large concentration of students that there would never be a court storm in this day and age.
