and 3 are 4 stars with 1 being a 3 star... worst part, 2 of the 4 stars are from Tennessee.... It's also worth noting Arkansas just landed a stud RM out of FL.

Tennessee on the other hand just picked up their first RB commitment and he's a 3 star that flipped from ECU....

Jay Graham's my boy and all, but dude HAS to do better than this. If last year showed us anything... to even come close to winning in the SEC you need a couple quality RB's. We had 2 1st round NFL WR's and what some would call a good QB and we won 5 games.

If we don't land Ford or flip some other decent RB i will have my doubts about this staffs ability to recruit at the level we need them to. RB's are a must in the SEC. Can't get them to sign on the dotted line, you're in the wrong conference. :peace2:

Just wanted to say... I have never seen anyone else actually admit they are an Astros fan. Holy crap.

Other than that, just because he is RB coach doesn't mean he is only responsible for recruiting RBs. He recruited (and got committed) the following:

Riley Ferguson
Malik Foreman
Paul Harris (4*)
Marquez North (4*)
Jalen Reeves-Maybin (4*)
Jabo Lee

I think this staff knows they need to get a RB, but- CJG has been doing a pretty good job tbh.

With all due respect, our RB's were average last year but it is the defense that got us seven losses. Last year was one of our better scoring years of all time I would say, we just could stop ANYONE.

I think our defense also played a significant role in only winning 5 games

Edit: you beat me to it

Here's how Arkansas scored their guy: kid's high school coach either played with Bielema or at Arkansas or something like that. There was already a connection there. And if you want to recruit like Ole Miss is right now then get your NCAA jock strapped-on. Other than that, if we have more than a 5 win season at some point, and I suspect this will be the year, recruiting will improve.

I concede Graham is a great recruiter, my point is, he needs to be a great recruiter of RB's first and then everything else next. Regardless of how many 5* WR's we sign or elite QB's, If we can't sign a couple quality RB's every year, we'll continue to be mediocre in this conference.

UT's offense last year scored a LOT of points. UT lost on the D side of the ball last year.

It's not hard to make a case against UT if you look at what happened here over the past 5 years with top tier talent. Primarily talking about the Kiffen class. We know the details but a high school kid being swayed by professional influencers (recruiters) could easily be turned off. We just gotta win.

You can't please whiners. They always have to complain about something. Guy has been busting tail on the recruiting trail.

It sure is a good thing that coaches evaluate talent themselves instead of listening to volnation. People need to stop going to rivals to see how many stars someone has based on opinions from someone who works there. The kids a good player.

The offense can't win too many games by themselves.

To start judging these coaches recruiting abilities after 2 months on the job is premature and ridiculous. Let's let these kids actually play in a Vol uniform before we judge them or the coaches.

Chris Johnson went to ECU. Just because Lee was committed there before UT instead of a "bigger school" means squat.

This comment just has fail written all over it.

So again, you're doubting the ability of our staff to recruit when he had only mere weeks to even get noticed by half these kids? Come on, son. Graham goes after who the head coach and recruiting coordinator tell him to go. If Dooley wasn't interested in them, then Graham likely didn't reach out much. The fact that we're even still in it with these kids AFTER the aforementioned losing seasons is very, very good. You need to think out your posts a little bit more.

We finished runner up for the "best back in the country"- that sucks but it wasn't for lack of trying/recruiting from Graham.

Graham isnt the lead recruiter for every back we go after. I cant stand when people throw it on him because they dont understand recruiting has nothing to do with your position you coach.

Our offense last year was NOT the issue. We scored over 30 points a game with those 2 NFL 1st rounders and we ran the ball pretty well for a pass happy offense. People blaming anything from last year on the offense are ignorant. Any other year we score 35+ on UGA & South Carolina we should win, not last year though.

Take a chill pill man just like everyone else has had only a short time to recruit aggresively. If I'm mistaking he did land a 4 star rb in Bourque until Dooley ran him off. There is no way that you truely believe that we deserve to have 2 top notch rbs. Also if TN doesn't appeal to these rb then that isn't Graham's fault.

I think it was more when Big Dan met him over the middle.

I am holding judgement until tomorrow. I know they had a short window but recruiters can recruit n if they r good we should see 4 or 5 legit surprises tomorrow.. Imo..

Top 15 or bust...

I thought it was a pretty well-established fact that UT's offense wasn't the most under-productive, worst-offense-in-the-program's-history like that other aspect that ends in "fence".

We must've been watching different games because if last year taught me anything it was that our defense was terrible and cost us a hand full of games

And the defese had nothing to do with the 7 loses, the entire offense was better, yes there were few hiccups on offense but the defense was atrocious
