OldTimer’s Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

It’s the manager’s responsibility to consider the welfare of his players. Not all managers are sensitive to that task.
Ohtani isn't ignorant, if he wasn't fine he would've told Roberts and trainer. Ohtani isn't going to risk losing another year of his career to injury...

Lol. That $500 worth I have isn't a drop in the bucket.
No but whenever you add up every single ticket sold, every single piece of Dodgers merchandise sold, every single jersey sold. All the regional television money. The fans pay for more than their fair share of contracts, including those idiot managers contracts.

Players want to play and these contracts are fully guaranteed. They aren’t worried about getting injured. The manager is suppose to step in and protect the players from themselves. Roberts and Snitker are dumbasses in that regard.

Everyone annointed Aguilar as starting QB when he committed to Vols. Merklinger was better today in practice than Aguilar, I prefer Merklinger over the Appalachian State refugee who played QB in that juggernaut Sun Belt Conference...
I prefer the QB that actually has a lot of experience as a starter even against that juggernaut Sunbelt. Guess the 2 teams Merk has played against? UTC and Kent State. Man....juggernauts.

Everybody is welcome to join.

For bragging rights in the Dugout and a chance to pick @MAD ‘s avatar for a week.

It's simple: pick one NFL team each week to win their game. If that team wins (or ties), you advance to the next week. If you lose even once during the season, you're out. And remember, you can only use each team once per season, so choose wisely!

How To Play

Make Your Pick

Welcome to Eliminator Challenge! If you're new to this game, the goal is simple: pick one NFL team each week to win their game. If that team wins (or ties), you survive and advance to the next week. If they lose, you're out and you'll no longer to be able to make picks in that entry for the remainder of the season. And don't forget, your entry can only choose each team once per season, so choose wisely!

Play with Friends

Rejoining and creating groups to play with friends, family and co-workers is easier than ever. Once you click "Submit Your Picks" a message will appear that will allow you to create new groups or rejoin the ones you were part of in 2024. If you closed that message you can still do either by heading over to the "Groups" tab. Creating a group and inviting your friends is also easy to do on your mobile device, computer or tablet using "copy link".

Check Your Scores

If the team you chose that week wins their game, your entry will survive and you'll advance to next week. Unlike in year's past however, if your selection that week loses then you'll be eliminated from the game and you'll be unable to continue making picks. This is the way Eliminator Challenge is meant to be played. One more thing: there's no need to reload the page as the "Make Your Pick" tab will auto-refresh.

When do I need to make my pick by each week?

Each matchup will lock at the time indicated on its card. Up until that point the matchup is unlocked and you're free to change your picks.

Can I change the name of my entry?

Yup! Just click the blue gear icon next to your picks' name.

What happens if a team that I picked ties?

You advance to next week! A tie is the same as a win for the purposes of Eliminator Challenge.

What happens if a game I picked gets postponed, canceled or a team FORFEITS?

In any of those scenarios occur, your pick for that game will be automatically canceled and you must make a new selection from the available matchups in that week in order to advance. If you fail to make a selection your entry will be eliminated.

How is the tiebreaker score on the leaderboard determined?

The tiebreaker score for your entry is the aggregate margin of victory of all of your combined picks. For example, let's say Week 2 just ended. You chose the Bills in Week 1 (they won 35-17) and the Titans in Week 2 (they won 14-3). Your tiebreaker score at that point is 29 (18+11).

How do I see if I've won?

The leaderboard tab is the place to see who is the best of the best. If you see your name anywhere on the screen, you crushed it. If you find yourself in 1st place (with the best tiebreaker score) when Week 18 ends then you are the lone champion of Eliminator Challenge!
