Oldest coonhound had to be put down...

He was older. When we got him he could have been any where between 3 and 6.

He had a decent 6 years with us. He had a lot of stuff wrong with him and we had our struggles but he was a very sweet dog.

He helped out the marriage with me working second shift. Holly was never alone and always felt safe when Perry was around.

We appreciate it. Holly is obviously taking it a lot harder than any of us. She was worried about what to tell Peyton, cause he was at the vet with her. So we talked and we decided to talk about the circle of life and that Perry was going to live in Heaven with Jesus. So I guess after Holly said her goodbye, Peyton told Perry to have fun playing with Jesus!

Some favorite Perry stories!

Speaking of laughing, we were visiting the in laws a few years back during Christmas and every thing was frozen and ice covered.

Well I had Perry out for a walk in the street, the only place you could walk, and he started dropping a bomb in the middle of the road.

I was in shock for a moment and then I heard a lady yell at her husband, you gotta come see this honey, a dog is sh%$$ng in the road!

Ok, so Perry I had our out walking at a local metro park. He loved to go back into the woods and sniff around. He had all the freedom that he wanted cause we had a 25ft retractable leash so I never really paid attention to what he was doing unless the line got caught on something.

So I feel a snug and I see Perry rolling around, I thought something was wrong with him and it turned out he found deer droppings and was rolling in the dookie.

I promise you the dog was completely covered in deer dookie! It was absolutely horrible.

Better yet, I brought him home and washed him in our bathtub at our apartment!

Well before the other two dogs and the mini van we would visit my parents and drive our little Honda Civic. Mommy and Peyton would be in the back and Perry would sit in the passenger seat next to me. The double takes we would get were absolutely priceless. One time in Cincinnati, a family doubletook and got their camcorder out to tape him. Perry sitting proud in the seat just like you or I would.

did he have the blues brother glasses and the cigar hahaha,

His white poppped out, so he naturally looked grand.

But just to see that big of a dog sitting like you or I would was just freakin great.

That dog wigged whenever we would say the word car. He loved it!

Although he did get his head caught in the windows a few times after we told him a hundred times we were going to roll them up.

I would be devastated if anything happened to our pup. We both have 2 adult children, but he is our baby. He is going on 3 now and a dog like no other.
