While the OL specs listed appear to have height/weight ratios that suggest these guys should be able to support a great running game. We all know, based on last years performance, there was a problem with push and maintaining the run block. I liked the reference made to the power these guys showed in the weight room...could lift a house but had no leg drive.

Expect that is changing as we speak.

Agree to that but that is last year and this is now. We now have 13 OL that are going to be strengthen and coached. Plus veteran Center. Pretty solid TEs. What gives? We all witnessed the horrible blocking last year it was so focused on tricks and finesse. This line was to busy standing straight up versus pushing forward. This will be fixed.

Our lineman will be smaller and quicker than they have been recently...should help when your trying to run plays for fast playmakers and dont have fast blockers...

We should be much improved on the lines next year, both offense and defense

Thanks for the list SI. Puts all of my "no depth on the line" thoughts to rest.

Some of the freshman lineman on this team are studs look at the individual specs on these kids. 6A lineman AA in Alabama. Remember recruiting some of these kids and we did well. I think the old staff went to sleep at the wheel with these kids.

I am pretty sure Myers and Johnson are no longer with the team.

It looks the nothing that good coaching and good strength/agility training won't fix.

Another thread had a discussion about how the OL/DL were all walking slow around campus. The new early morning training is kicking their b*tts.

So depth appears to be a problem...

Looks like we will definitely have to have a lot of quick thows... I don't know how much of the season these guys can stay in top shape for.

We definitely can't have any over time games or else we better hope we have a great defense and a sure kicker!

This is probably my biggest worry for the year.

Add 2 from this Signing Class and what is the OL Problem?

You left McNeil out...

And the problem is that Scott, Richard, McClendon and McNeil are the only ones who have seen any significant playing time....and they're gone after next year...

So there will be a serious dearth of talent and depth on the OL in 2010

Agree but added all the centers and TEs plus add in two recruits.
