Memphis academics and HS culture overall have proven to be substandard as a key recruiting base. Stick with the Middle TN, Georgia, NC, SC and Florida kids. Maybe give kids a longer look in basketball but for football, Memphis is overrated, flabby, culturally void of content and best suited for the Mississippi JUCO circuit.

And yet Bama, Miss. and other schools get really good football output from them. With your attitude, I'd suggest they not even consider the Vols. Go elsewhere, end up in the NFL, and donate some of their millions to their out-of-state alma meters and causes. I mean this seems to make you happy. Perhaps if Tennessee invested in the city to uplift the citizens there instead of rednecking them, things would be different.
