Via rivals and I know this is a commit thread so dont bash me to bad just thought everyone should c this. :good!:

Not officially a Vol but a commit. Everything changes for these commitments, especially those from out of state, with coaching changes. I can't imagine there won't be a major staff shakeup even if somehow Fulmer is brought back. A lot of these recruits are committing to the coaches and will change with staff changes.

You don't commit to a coach....If that happened I would have zero faith in college football. It is a big part of recruiting feeling comfortable, but if Fulmer were fired his recruits arn't going to follow him, they don't play for the coach, they go to play for the University.

Clemson has already lost several commitments. Players do commit because of coaches all the time.

U ever heard of Tyler Smith???? He initially committed to the Vols out of high school because of Buzz but took off when we fired him. The only reason he came back was cause of his dad... That's one of MANY examples.

Agreed, kids commit or decommint based on coaches and what happens with them. Our 09 commits are lookin pretty good.

of course these young men commit to coaches. How do they know the new coach is even going to run the same type of gameplan they were recruited for?

This might be the most naive thing I've read all day. Perfect example was Terrell Pryor last year. He was considering TN until Cutcliffe left, then whamo. Never returned Phil's calls anymore.

Recruiting has become the high point of the Vol's season in recent years. Now with the results on the field, it gets celebrated earlier and earlier, just like Christmas.

Kids commit to the coach and staff thats in place, most of the time. Some remain loyal to the university. If phil gets the axe this class will take a hit. You really shouldn't get worked up over this class. Even if phil stayed it will more than likely in up in the teens anyway. We have the lowest star ranking in the top ten. Numbers have us up there. When other teams start filling out their classes ours will drop.

Phil has proven time and time again, he does less with more. So i wouldn't get all worked up over this class. Afterall we've been here before.
