Before it`s over Baylor may be the big winner. Nine schools all writing them checks so they can go play somewhere else.

That's the writing on the wall. If the SEC were to stand pat at 12 while the Pac adds OU and Texas, not only does that pretty much guarantee them the better TV contracts for good, it also puts them over the top to become the best conference in CFB for the long haul. Slive needs to be finding potential powerhouses to add on so the TV money, and by extension dominance, can keep coming.

Texas will soon be standing alone counting their money, smug with their longhorn network, and oblivious to the fact that they are ostracizing themselves.

Right now Baylor is my hero. I hope they can stop the Big 12 from falling apart. Or at least keep A@M outta the SEC. Why **** up the best conference?

The SEC is not taking Texas A&M because it needs them, it's taking Texas A&M to keep the Pac-12 from getting them.

I just don't like any of this. There are enough teams in the sec and now there are way too many in the pac (12? or however many). I guess I am just one of the few who liked the regional conferences as they were. Everyone keeps talking tv money, but it is not like any of these big programs seem to be hurting for tv time. I just don't get it and really just don't like it.

Blupotato...actually I agree with your statement. I think that virtually all Aggies would like to stay in the Big 12...if things were equitable. Unfortunately, the powers that be over in Austin decided they wanted even more.

That's just a stupid view that is not the reason they are taking A& M

If the Big 12 keeps their auotmatic BCS qualifying spot, adds several new schools (SMU, Houston, Rice, Tulsa ..etc) Baylor could dominate and go to the BCS every year.

No, texas would win that resulting pansy conference every year. Maybe Tech once a decade.

It would, but I don't see how it's any worse than the big east maintaining aq status

This is not a stupid view. It is spot-on. The SEC first approached TAMU in 2010 when there were rumors that TAMU, Texas, OU, and OSU were all going to the Pac-xx.

The SEC does not "need" TAMU. I think we can all agree on that part. There are benefits to adding the Aggies beyond simply blocking the Pac, but it's pretty obvious that the Pac is the reason we first talked to them last year.
