In the age of the playoff I don't. I just want to get to the dance and I don't care how
Couldn't agree more brother. The SEC is already dog eat dog. Now it's going to a 9 game schedule. I no longer care about a quality out of conference opponent. We will see plenty of them in the playoff.This. So much this. Its all that matters, just like college basketball. Making the tournament at all costs. More people will see it this way with our 9game SEC schedule being brutal these days with 5 or 6 ranked SEC teams each year...2 or 3 of which will be top10 teams. Every year. No room for mistakes or losses.
I honestly wish we werent playing GT home/away and Washington home/away as 1 of our 3 nonconference games in the next 5 years. WVU in charlotte is the other game but we will beat them and i live in Charlotte so selfishly i dont mind that one. With the talent in our 2025 and 2026 classes we have a legitimate chance to make a playoff run to a Title in 2026-28...IF we can make it through our brutal schedule and get in the playoffs. Don't want to be sitting on the outside looking in with a QB and WR room that are gonna be second to none. I firmly believe with Gmac/Faizon and our WR classes of 24/25/26 we can have THE best passing game in college football.
Fans clamored for a better schedule. They got their wish. As Spock said...."After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting".This. So much this. There's also the fact their schedule is manageable to where they might actually be able to afford losing to Tenn. There's been discussion about a 9-3 team slipping in. If mateer is undefeated or only has 1 loss as a starter and he is healthy coming back and beats Bama, I'm absolutely putting them in.They have a bye after us. Returning after the bye week seems like the smart play unless his recovery is just super smooth. If it’s at all questionable, you 100% wait the extra game and get 2 more weeks to rehab.
