Apparently, we need to have 4-5 more players leave off the current roster that are on scholarship.

Bonner, Phillips, and Taylor have already left, but I'm guessing there's more that need to depart that are on scholarship.

3 Questions:

1) Who should be asked to depart so we can sign a full class that is on scholarship already?

2) Do you think that any current recruits will be asked to look elsewhere?

3) Who do you think we end up with? (Remember: Harris, JRM, Lemond Johnson, Riyahd Jones, and Corey Vereen are already in as EE's)

Keep in mind the players we are still very much in on:

North, Green, Barber, Kemp, Kamara, Lawson, Foster, Irvin-Sills, Skai Moore, Bell, Levenberry Jr, Quinn, Maurice Swain, Crayton, Jermaine Grace, Zac Cunningham, Davin Bellamy, and others....

We could very likely land many of these. But in order for us to get the full 27, some people have to go. And in order for us to land many of this aforegiven list, many current recruits have to be asked to look elsewhere.

Just wondering who you think?

Not a good idea imo to discuss this. Just let it play out and you will know when the rest of us do. No need to talk about that with recruits and players reading these boards.

I doubt we have to ask anyone to leave. We only need to clear 5 spots. Between transfers and academics, that won't be a problem.

It looks like CBJ has done pretty well, getting people on campus with limited visits. Some big names are starting to pop up

I couldn't agree more. There is so much info that we don't have access to. It's useless and counter-productive to start naming names.

Do Sentimore, Bray, Hunter, and Patterson not play into this number?

My take on this, CBJ takes whichever players he feel bring the most potential to our team. If it's 22 or 27. Stay away from true project players as he already has a ton on roster. If good, impact players fill the final part of this class, we can run some of our older projects away. JMO.

I am counting that we need 4 spots to open up.

And to answer previous questions, we would need to be at the 85 limit by next fall as I understand it.

Plenty of time for academic casualties and transfers. No need to fret.

Why do kids always have to leave/be kicked off? maybe the staff does not take a full 27 or whatever the # is. Maybe they feel like the kids on the current roster puts us in a better position to win now. Might be hard to boot current kids to the curb ifthe coaches here have not seen them play/practice. I myself don't worry about the numbers as far as how can we take a full class. If your NOT taking a full class, your a better football team. Booting all the kids before they become JRs and SRs is how you get a roster of young guys with no experience. JMO

I think we can easily take 27 without asking anyone to leave.

Anytime there's a new staff, you'll have a few transfers just because some wont see themselves fitting into the new system.

And how long has it been since we didn't have atleast 1 or 2 academic casualities?

And if we still end up a spot short, you ask someone to gray shirt.

It's just the way it is. Happens at every program

Dave Lawson is going to run the sissies off. That's the first process of elimination. Then spring ball is going to run players off also. Remember kiffin running people off with Ausmus?

Almost every new coach tries to take as close to the max as they can. Some guys will no longer fit what the new staff wants to do. Others may not like the coaching style change. Not to mention the new staff may not feel the same level of commitment to kids they never recruited. Take the max and rest always works itself out.
