He will bring fundamentals back... Pruitt is the right guy for this program at this time.

Alabama's defense dominated tonight and Georgia's linebackers made huge tackles at critical moments in the game. It is awesome to know the guys coaching those units will be coaching the Vols. Add in the elite defensive recruits that are likely to sign this year and we have a lot to be excited about.

Did someone hijack ur account password? :)

Glad you finally found some sunshine. The off season is too long to be depressed. We may still swerve into a tree and burst into flames with Pruitt in a couple, but we are headed in a better direction for now and that’s all we got.

While it won't be a monumental turnaround from last season to next season, I think it's safe to say that the Vols aren't stumbling around in the dark anymore like they were with Butch. Once the success of playing fundamental football has returned, and the win column starts looking better, there should be no problems landing elite talent to play for UT. Maybe not on the level of Bama or Georgia, but decent enough to compete in a short time. Long term, Tennessee will be competing for SEC championships and more if all goes well in the next year. Tennessee has never had a geographical advantage in recruiting, which makes hiring a coach who can actually coach even more essential to future success. Our rivals can do much with the level of in-state talent they have. They have to do more with more, while UT has to do more with less. CJP has a track record of success wherever he's been, just not as head coach. I say we give him a pass next season, as long as there is noticeable improvement. By year 3, we ought to know whether he was right for the job. A decent season this next fall will be crucial for the future in recruiting.

Tim Tebow said it best. Tennessee is a sleeping giant. And Pruitt is the guy who will wake them up. Its gonna take a year or two, but the kind of recruits this coaching staff will bring is will get it done.

Just because a coach is a good coordinator doesn't imply he will be a good head coach.

Time will tell. This will be a staff of coaches pulled together that have never really worked with each other or worked with Pruitt as a HC.

Some of you are drinking the Fulmer and the Bama kool-aid. And you will be the first ones on board to fire the man if Tennessee tanks next year.

Lets see what he can do with our 3 star talent, not 5 star horses.

I like Pruitt but he's inheriting mules, not stallions. Its gonna take time.

Sorry my friend but you're NOT correct.

Several of these coaches HAVE worked together and HAVE worked with Pruitt.

That's why Pruitt was ale to recruit and hire so many of his staff coaches so fast and get them to K town so fast to help him get some good recruiting done in only 12 days before the 1st recruit signing period.

Pruitt is very well known, liked and respected and he actually had several of these coaches lined up and ready to join him as soon as he was hired as a HC.

Pruitts plan was 1 of the big factors that Fulmer liked so much and caused him to hire Pruitt.

Now Tennessee is getting very good PR for free during the playoff and NC games because Pruitt is getting lots of free PR for being hired as our new HC.

Recruits are also watching these games so it certainly can't hurt our recruiting.

CJP may be in Bama but his staff is in K town getting serious work done and CJP is on the phone working for Tennessee every minute he's not coaching the Bama kids.

I like what's been going on so far and all smart Vols fans do too.

VFL...GBO!!!

All of these accolades are great for new UT Coach and well deserved. Butt, we all know IF Bammer had been rung up by Clemson, multiple threads would be on here today about the bad hire, signs of things to come, etc. etc.

Here is what I know, Coach Pruitt is going to attempt to restore Structure, Discipline and TOUGHNESS to this program.......and that is a GREAT start back. :hi:

Next year isn't going to be stellar. Biggest things Fulmer brings is consistency and stability and unity. Pruitt will bring fundamentals and toughness. May take some time but we are back on right track.

I believe the Vols will be a pleasant surprise next year if the recruiting finishes strong as all indications are right now. As we've seen in some of the bowl games, freshmen can contribute a great deal with the proper coaching. I'm expecting seven wins next season and even better in 2019.

He also said that he was a NFL QB...

Agree. CJP nor his coordinators have experience at coaching their jobs.

Let’s not get too carried away next year guys. It’s a rebuild year at minimum. 6-7 wins is the floor next year. If they win 8 I’ll be really blown away. As for rankings go I don’t think we see top 25 unless we were to start out like 5-0 and end up with a 9-3 record. 2018 will be a learning curve and 2019 will see much more improvement on both sides of the ball and hopefully by SEC East champs by 2020...

Next year's team has no chance of more than 7 wins. Six is really the ceiling, but maybe give room for a major upset. If that is the best they do, it is not a negative on these coaches. They have a lot to fix.

I'm glad you are excited but cjp played a Clemson offense that lost their qb, wr, and rb. Last year when Clemson wasn't so young offensively they torched bama through the air. The year before they torched bama through the air.

I see your excitement, but Pruitt didn't have to deal with the same Clemson offense as last year.

Anyway, i still hope he can bring an Alabama type defense to UT. I hope he can get the run game chugging like smart and saban too
