I don't know how much power Hamilton wields.... but I definately see a coaching change if the Vols finish with 7 or less wins. Hamilton may pull the plug if the Vols don't get to double digits. I also think it depends upon which coaches are available at the end of the season.

If the Vols finish the regular season at 9-3 and win a bowl, then I don't think Hamilton will make a change.

What it will come down to is does he think he can move the staff and replace it with the quality to withstand a year or two of some of the BOT. If the answer is yes then you may very well see a change if your scenariio plays out.

Wth that said I would love to see us win out.

Actually Lex, I have been upset with the manner the past has gone. After the 05 season I stated that I believed (and still do) that the staff had earned the right to fix the situation. If you recall I have always said that as long as we see improvement I will be satisfied. To see improvement now it will take the kind of coaching that we this University deserves. So we shall see. As far as I'm concerned the job security of our HC is on his on shoulders. Right where is should be.
i agreed with that for a long time as well.

it's now apparent to me that they simply can't. and i'm really just not going to be satisifed if we go 9-3 this year, which i don't think will happen.

anyway, the season will play out, and we'll likely wind up in the 8-4/7-5 range, go to a bowl and wait and see what happens.

but in the interest of "it's not losing, but who you lose to", i don't know that he could withstand losing 2 more games to any of the following: Bama, SC, GA, ARK or KY. and should we lose 3+ of those.......oh Lord.

potentially losing to Saban, Spurrier and richt.....again......coupled with losing to Meyer......again.......would just be too much for me, even if a winning record was the result at the end of the season.

Well..just heard a clip on the radio from CPF.....he basically said that this staff knows what it takes to win a championship and they will focus on those things......evidently he still don't get it.
Kinda like having a car without power windows, seats, brakes and no air, no radio etc. It will get there but its gonna be an uncomfortable ride! Put your seatbelt on coach!

This can't surprise anybody, can it? We've been doing the same basic things on both sides of the ball for 15 years; we're not suddenly going to change anything. If our staff had any new ideas, we'd have already used them. Line em up and go get em, boys.

I would consider this a level-headed response. The difference is I measure improvements by championships.

We can and have argue(d) all day long about how to define improvement. Last year the record was better, but Florida, LSU and Arky made us look pretty average regardless of the final score in the ballgames.

The prevailing mantra on the Hill remains, "Playing freshman in the SEC gets you beat". By the looks of it, can you imagine us looking any worse against Florida had Vinson and O'Neal at least gotten the opportunity to run under a few balls?

OK I will list all the plays tonight so we can see what it looks like laid out. Any other request as far as plays?

Yes, how many times on 3rd down and say 5 or 6 yards to go was this play called: Ainge turns left/right and tosses a pass to someone at or behind the line of scrimmage for a 0-1/2 yard gain? I guess the guy is supposed to catch it 2 or 3 yards behind the LOS and then get 7 or 8 yards on a run straight ahead to get the first down?I

'm not sure what that play is called but I've been seeing a helluva lot of it for many years now. It has never made sense to me as it has rarely worked. :banghead2:
