Lol! Lost Herbert, Giles, Meeks, and possibly Stokes and everybody wants to give him a BJ because he speaks well in public...

I opened this thread expecting a list of shots that would be offered...

If I could make a suggestion... a flaming Dr. Pepper would be nice.

People like you conviently forget what it 'normally' looks like in recruiting when a coaching change happens. Look at Auburn. The fact that so many commits have stayed with UT is a sign of how good he is. And I must have missed when Meeks was ever committed to UT. Because for him to lose Meeks, it would mean we had him at some point. I also like how you just throw it out as a blanket statement and dont go into any circumstances. We lost Herbet because we refused to guarantee Herbet that Atkins would have a job on the new staff. You want Adkins to continue to coach OL? We lost Giles because we refused to guarantee Drayton a job before Lane got to interview others for the position. So in your opinion, what would make Lane a better recruiter is him giving in to recruits demands. That would be a great philosophy.

And you did not mention the list of 'new' recruits that are intersted in UT now that were nowhere on the radar before. Conviently left that list off huh...

Life is good. In the Press Conference, Lane Pi$$ed off gator fans, by calling out Florida. Then he Pi$$ed of Spurrier by taking his recruiting guru and trying to take some of his recruits. He ticked of Jimmy Hyams by being named coach (Hyams said over and over LK would not be coach). Recruits are ticked becaus CLK said thanks but no thanks, which in turn ticked off the recruiting degenerates on this board. He ticked off Al Davis and Tom Cable because he took OL line coach (by the way why does the last two games matter for that crappy team? ) Status quo was never pi$$ing people off. The last time a new coach at TN came close to making so many people mad when they started off was CBP and we see how that is truning out - pretty darn great. I am just glad we made someone mad at us!!!!

That anybody is reacting to us at ALL says we've already started the move back up! GO VOLS!!!!!

Room on the bandwagon is limited. First come, first serve. :)

Yea I noticed that I had to sit in a bad spot, basically one cheek hanging off due to the limited space..:)

Oh.. BTW...I don't guess I can take credit for Monte's annoucement can I???? I was wondering if I could tell people that Monte read some of my post and decided he better go ahead and let everyone know he was coming...(of course you know I'm kidding around) :eek:k:

I know the whole landscape of college football pal...your analysis of my views is comical...I want to see results not excuses from "Kiffin Keyboarders" like yourself. You say I am a pessimist, I say you are drinking too much Kiffin Kool-Aid. Do I think he has potential...absolutely!You act as if he has already turned the program around and he should be crowned the dictator of K-Town! The fact is, he hasn't done s*** yet and I am hoping that he will...I love my Vols and want them to return to prominence, but I am a realist that needs to see results before I anoint this guy "KING". Peace!
BTW...when a 4* kid is interested in your program, and he chooses someone else...you lost him!

It is better then being under the bus. I hope you don't have a big but because I may need some room.

I was not happy with the hire at first but seeing what Auburn did (somehow) makes me feel a hell of alot better. Still, I have doubts but, darn, it really could have been worse.

I'm not sure a lawyer could have prepared a better statement. You just summed up exactly what needs to be said regarding the "lost" commitments.
