While I've enjoyed all the Fulmer and Chavis bashing threads since Saturday, I'm not getting a lot of work done in real life.

I think we've beat this horse dead enough for the time being.... and of course, we can pick it up again after the Arkansas State game.

I am actually going to that game and take my kids to their first UT game. I hope it is good for the Vols sake so my kids can enjoy the environment. I am gonna take them early to see the Vol Walk and the band come in. Anything else for sure they should see?? I have been to Knoxville 20 times or so for games. I just want them to have a good time. They are 11 and 7.

I hope one of the younger folks can answer your question (good for you, by the way!)...

It's been so long since I was on campus, it's changed too much.. I hear Andy Holt drive(?) is now a pedestrian-only zone... I always liked dodging traffic on the way to the HSS building as a nice wake up for an 8am english class... haha..

yeah take 'em to the Vol Walk, that's always fun, and if you are down there early enough, go down around the Music building and you can see the band come out and start marching down to the stadium.

before all that....go down to the TN grill or Calhouns and watch the Vol Navy come in, and there's stuff all over campus to see....visis the book store and the UC etc....

but def. do the vol walk, and be inside the stadium 15-20 minutes before kickoff and see all the band stuff, the opening of the T etc....all good times.

I hope that you and your kids have fun tng8r. I'll probably be at home watching Arky-KY, UGA-Bama and maybe some SMU-TCU.

Thanks....I definitely planned on that. I want them to see a real SEC stadium first since I live here in Nashville and we all know Vandy isn't one of them. My oldest has been to Gainesville though. I still love the feel at a UT game.

As long as your children aren't old enough to recognize, and be sickened by, craptacular football they should have a good time. The Volunteer Village has games and activities for kids prior to the game.

Hey TNG8R get down to the corner of Peytons Pass early Saturday morning and your kids can see Phil dodging thru traffic as he steals a bag of Krispy Kremes from the local store!:eek:lol:

I was going to recommend the same thing.

You can also take them to see the Vol Navy. Maybe even go up to the top of Gate 10 and let them see that view of the river, Vol Navy and Knoxville.

Don't forget to zap them after teh game with the Men in Black thing to erase their memory of watching this year's team.

Have fun, I will be there as well. :good!:
