Multiple On3 national reporters then confirmed to RRS they had heard similar.

However, a high-level Texas Tech source just refuted the ESPN report and said they jumped the gun. I have deleted Trick's commitment thread for now.

The following is Texas Tech mod speculation. They prefer Wendell Gregory, so they are holding off on taking Trick's commitment. They are also the favorite to land Steven Soles. The mods don't think they can land all 3, so they are holding off on taking Trick until they get an answer from Gregory.
