They were bad on D last year, Coomis or whatever is name is got a Covid pass, the first two games this year they have been bad on D. Earlier this week Ryan day wouldn’t answer questions about who would be calling the D.

The mob is beside themselves. They know they have to win out, at most lose one more. they are saying coom is gone and he knows it.

i guess he had a terrible presser yesterday. it got ugly.

Ryan day gets a lot of credit for being a great HC and he is definitely good. But he took a situation over where no one left with urban, he kept Larry Johnson, he was the OC, the DC stayed for a year, Coombs is one of the best as a position coach, and his schedule is easy. The shine will wear off him just a bit because his first and only major hire that didn’t roll over from Meyer is a bust

they say that coomis is a fantastic recruiter and that's why he was here, but in a NIL world, that doesn't matter anymore. we'll have to see if he can recover, but it feels like a collapse tbh.

Definitely a "first world problems" thing (they have no idea what a bad program looks like), but I understand why they are frustrated with their defense. Oklahoma fans should be too.

Well first, they’ve played 2 games so far this year and their defense looks horrible. Last year was Coombs first year as DC and they looked pretty bad on defense then too. He could be stripped of his play calling duties as early as tomorrow.

Kerry Coombs is one fantastic human, a really good DB coach, and one of the nations best recruiters, but he isn't a DC...he just isn't. All the talent in the world and he can't scheme or call competent plays.... Time after time after time they give up big plays that have been run over and over again... Pathetic. Word has it they might hire anothe co-DC, Musberger a possibility. Jeremy Pruitt has even been mentioned.

Wrong.... He hired his former peer from San Francisco, Jeff Hafley, who completely turned that defensive around and is now semi succesful HC at boston College... Day let Schiano (Co-DC), Grinch (Co-DC), Taver Johnson (DB), and Billy Davis(LB) go immediately upon gaining control....

It’s funny because they went all out to keep Al Washington from leaving. 😏

He hasn't been the problem and he isn't calling Defensive plays.

personally, i think they f'd up by not promoting Larry Johnson to head coach. everyone was sure he was going to take over. that could still play itself out over time i guess.

No one thought that Larry Johnson was going to take over. Day was considered the front runner for the start after his stint as interim HC. Gene Smith reached out to Mike Vrabel who politely declined the opportunity and he interviewed Matt Campbell. Those were the only serious candidates.

@Boston Vol you are full and running over with complete ********. I lived on that campus... absolutely everyone wanted larry johnson, and he is twice the coach.
Now you’re saying two different things. At first you said everyone thought he was going to take over. Now you’re saying that everyone wanted him to take over. Those are two different things, and they may have wanted Johnson to take over, but at no time was Larry Johnson a serious candidate to replace Urban Meyer.

there is a reason they made him "co head coach", he is the most valuable coach they have. ryan day literally surprised everyone. he's a rookie head coach that has never had the job before. people had to educate themselves on who he was for crying out loud. you're bored, get back yo work.

Co-Head Coach? What are you even talking about? Do you mean Associate Head Coach? That doesn’t mean co-head coach. And no, Ohio State promoting Ryan Day surprised absolutely no one, unless they were living under a rock.
