We were 7-9 in conference, but we were 4-0 in the MAC tourny and are now 1-0 in the NCAA tourny with an average winning margin of 14 points over #3 seeds. Here's the thing about the regular season and I can understand a lot of Vol fans looking at that record and dismissing us b/c you have no reason to have followed OUr team all season. We started off conference play 0-4 in big part due to multiple lengthy suspensions and dismissals for key players and a season ending injury to our top returning player (Steven Coleman). I know it's a cliche thing to say, but this really isn't the same team we saw in the beginning of the conference slate. This team has a rythm and finally pinned down a strong starting line-up and substitution pattern. Everyone knows their roles and plays unselfishly. Georgetown lost for one reason... The extra pass on the perimeter. What appeared to be "bad" defense was what they had been doing all year with success. The difference was unlike Big east all-star players our team usually looks for the best shot not their own shot. If we lose it won't be because we're as bad as that 7-9 conference record.

Agree with the above. UT is a better team than Ohio, but they should by no means take this team lightly.

Also. Don't think that us wanting to beat Ohio State in the NCAA tourney will be any more motivation than our opponents. That would be the dream of the century for them.

Not surprising. The small sampling of visitors we had during football season seemed informed, well behaved, and generally entertaining.

I kinda liked 'em.
