It actually happens to me a couple times a week. I do the towel trick for 10-15 minutes until I get the two overheating flashing lights on the left side, let it cool down and then it's back to normal. Very annoying.

It's been happening for about 4 months. If it would just quit fixing itself, I'd send it in, but I always get it back working relatively easy.

If it's an E74, I think it's a scaler chip problem. If you don't want to do the towel trick, you'll have to send it in, but I've heard that this isn't covered under the 3 year warranty, so you'll probably have to pay for the repairs.

Hope that helps. Good luck.
Yep, it's an E74, how much will that run me do you think?

The warranty will cover that if the console is less then a year old. When you get the console repaired they send you the same type that you send in, so you will get an Elite console back. If the console is more then a year old it will cost you $100 to get fixed. That also comes with a one year warranty.

Google much o-dub? :p

It is possible that it is the scaler chip, but it is also possible that your A/V cable is just screwed up. I would go to Wal-Mart and pick up a new A/V cable and see if that fixes it... if not, take the cable back to Wal-Mart and send the 360 to MS.

I've known of 4 people who's XBOX's have crashed while playing COD4. I can remember them saying that the game was causing some systems to crash. I had the game, but traded it in after 3 people on my friends list had their XBOX crash while playing the game.

Well, it looks like my baby is on it's way home from the Doctor. So Chad, freak, Larkinn, time to get back into GOW. To all my COD4 peeps (too many to list), leave the light on for me. Glancing30 is coming back to kill kill kill.
