Offseason Moves That Need To Happen

Okay so assuming Pruitt is here another year, here are some moves that he should make to right the ship.

1. Fire Weinke. If Cutcliffe is let go from Duke, hire him to coach QB's. He would be salivating at the prospects of coaching Bailey, Shrout, Ty Simpson, Salter, and makes us major players for Arch Manning. Other option is move Osovet here.

2. Fire Friend. Hire Jack Bicknell from Auburn. NFL Experience. Really, I have zero reason for this. Just get rid of friend.

3. Say bye to Ansley, or demote him to DBs only. Hire Kevin Steele as DC.

4. Move Osovet to QB, move Neids back to TE/ST

5. Hire Bo Davis for DL.

6. Hire Tosh Lupoi for LB coach.

Just my suggestions. Thoughts?

I like all those coaches but a lot of money for a hc close to the chopping block.

Steele alone is very high price.

I think Steele has been wanting to get back here for a long time. Just dont think it's ever happened yet. But our defense needs a major overhaul.

Steele is about to get 5 million from Auburn and may be interested in coming home to Momma. The idea that Cutcliffe will come home to be a QB coach for a dead man walking HC is hysterical.

Not really. I think Cut is about done anyways. I think if he could just focus on QB development and do what he loves he would be happy. Big step back from HC, but I think after 13 seasons, he would be good with it.

Then he can do it at that HS in Charlotte that produces a D1 prospect QB every year. Or he can become a private QB tutor. He’s not coming back to do it at the school that screwed him over to work for a coach who he’s twice as competent as.

Not to mention as soon as the team stumbled a lot of people would be calling to firenpruitt and promote Cut to HC.

Can’t think there are many coaches willing to hitch their wagon to Beldars train. Very likely to be a one year gig then booted with Beldar. Have to pay a tidy sum to get a good coach to sign on to this dumpster fire.

here are my thoughts. You do that and then fire Pruitt next year then you’re paying these new coaches buyouts as well meaning it probably makes more financial sense to get rid of Pruitt now

Pruitt should not change from Ansley unless there is a clear upgrade at DC. I’d say a clear upgrade is Muschamp or even Steele if he isn’t the guy at Auburn. Worst thing Pruitt can do in his make or break year is change schemes and coordinators like Dooley did with Sunseri and Butch did with Larry Scott

So throw a vast fortune at trying to cover up the ineptitude of a terrible coach for the 3rd time? Sounds perfectly Tennessee.
