I went to the game and let me tell you ETSU came to play they keep changing there defence and trapping all over the court this was sloppy played game fouls galore about every shot someone was banging each other and at the end ETSU had no choice but to foul almost every inbound went to lofton and they fouled him i think he went 13 for 13 at the line a tenn record' a wins a win we found a way to pull this out.

Happy new year, everyone! That was an ugly game. I went to see them at TBA for the first time in a long time. Jujuan got us off to quite a start putting up the first 11 points. We were at about 22 points with 11:30 in the first half and looking good for another 100 point game til things went South. One thing I really took notice of at the game was that Dane was always, always encouraging his teammates. He is quite the leader. The team really reacted when the crowd finally got involved. From then on, it was a done deal.
I'm glad we were able to overcome in a less than inspiring game. Perhaps it will let them know that if you fall asleep at the wheel, bad things are sure to come.

Kesling made it sound like ETSU was playing their asses off when I was listening. Sounded like they were having a good night while we were struggling a bit. Always good to just get a W on those nights and move along.

Our defense stunk last season, and by all accounts, will stink this season. Why?

Still early in CBP's career, but maybe he isn't a good set D coach. As long as we win, I don't care.

I would agree. Then again, that's more of his philosophy to begin with. Press, cause turnovers, distract and annoy to wear out the other team. We all know UT isn't a half court team and it's a matter of controlling tempo for long enough to get ahead.

All we have to do is pretty much go .500 in the SEC and we are looking at a good 6 or better seed. Can't wait to see how the team does down the stretch. We certainly have some talent; if they can get together for a few games they can do some damage to anyone. And next year...whoa, I love thinking about UT b-ball right now.

Duke and Ramar did not start yesterday because they missed a team breakfast. Coach Pearl said that they learned their lesson, and it will not happen again.

Even if this happened, I am glad that Childress got a much-earned start.

I went and thought UT looked great until, at about 35-17, Pearl started experimenting with different lineups that didn't work, and we lost all momentum, and the ETSU kids got pumped up. No big deal, so long as Pearl learned more about his team. This may sound obvious, but I think either Chism or Crews must always be on the floor, and at least two out of Crews, Ramar, JaJuan, and Lofton must always be playing.
