Here are some things that I think are advantages for the Vols:

1. Weather - it's going to be a wet field with a 50% chance of rain tonight. The humidity is expected to be over 90% according to weather.com. The wet field should negate Oregon's speed advantage and we are used to the humidity.

2. Peter Sirmon - don't underestimate the fact that he was a GA on Oregon's staff last year and knows their personnel and what they like to do.

3. Def coordinator Wilcox - he has experience playing against Oregon with Boise State and knows how to defend them. I feel much better with him as DC vs. Monte.

4. Oregons new QB - new QB coming into Neyland for their first road game.

5. Oregon's travel schedule - probably not a big deal but seems odd that they travel 3 time zones east and only arrive 24 hours before game time. They must not be worried about us.

I'm excited for this game. I think the boys will be up for this, and will fight, and play physical ball, despite all of our crazy issues to start the season. Hopefully Wilcox will scheme enough, Chaney/Simms will control the game pace enough, and we'll play out of our minds and pull out a win.

Would love to see the rain move out, and the temperature jump about 10 degrees before tonight's game... wishful thinking though.

I sat next to an obnoxious drunk Oregon fan last night at a restaurant. I thought about knocking him off his stool but I didn’t want to spend a night in jail and I have to post bond and all that then miss the game. I’ll save it for tonight…I’ll be nice until time not be nice….GO VOLS!.

seems to me Kelly played this part out fairly good. Nothing he could do about the time fror travel but he left their body clocks on an afternoon game in Eugene.

Let's pull the repeat of the 2006 Cal game, going to be a rainy day (75% all day) hopefully we pull this out.
