Official Tennessee vs. Vanderbilt SEC Tourney Game 1 - 10:30 AM - SPSO

Game has been over an hour & I'm just now getting wi- fi :loco:at the stadium. Sorry, gang. Thought we had it going in the 9th, but that FREAK lucky tag on 3rd & pickoff on 1st were killers, CDS & players acknowledged Vol fans as they left the field. Make no mistake...UT is again relevant in SEC baseball! Sorry I failed, Vol 66.

Yeah. Not gonna happen.

Well at least we made it to the tournament but still a abomination the way this game ended. All losses suck but vast worst ways to loses are mile high abysmal which one was shown today.

The future is bright for the baseball vols but can't deny this is a major wound. The kind you constantly replay in your mind leaving you wondering what could have been.

Oh well at least I still got the cubs to possibly rise out of the bottom, a restaurant that serves authentic Chicago style pizza where I live, goal of regrowth of my hair, and vast other things to occupy my attention away from this abysmal loss.
It's a low point of my summer but not disastrous.

Seem to eager to get home that or this was one of those plays where vols were caught sleeping, or understandably anticipating that it was gong to be a base hit

Serrano said sorry I failed?
This one is on the players for the meltdown in the 9th.
It happens vandy had a mistake the balk but proved to be a small leak with no damage as the worst case scenario happened.

Ah, man, I was just joking around, glad you were at the game supporting the players and coaches.

I hope Carson Fulmer catches a line drive to the face tomorrow, punk vandy *****

Wishing someone gets hurt..... no class. If one of our guys did that you would be like "Hell yeah". Some people need to learn how to take a loss like a man and not a little girl. Too bad you can't buy a set, I would give directions to the store and send you 50 bucks.

.... The base coaches have been pathetic, along with the players' intelligence, for 7 years now. Two different staffs and 3+ years of both and the baseball team STILL runs themselves out of innings.

If you think Serrano is a pathetic baseball coach, there's really no need in trying to reason with you.

If one of our guys had gotten out of what Fulmer did, I'd be screaming myself.

Lots of Vol fans here & I just had a great visit with "hatingbamaisawayoflife"! :whistling:

Wish I could've stuck around all day but had to go do some work in the B'ham area to justify it being a "work" trip haha. I'll be back for the weekend, unfortunately I won't have a rooting interest. Sometimes that makes it a little more enjoyabl though.

No playoffs are as enjoyable when the team you are a fan of is not in it.

Seems about the same as playing a team sport but remaining on the bench.

On years we didn't make it it's more enjoyable because it doesn't ruin your whole week. I drove 12 hrs in '05 and had tix for the whole week, we lost in like 3 games. We spent all that money and time so we decided to stay with 2-3 days worth of games still. But we felt miserable after losing, that no one gave a **** anymore. I've still had a blast in years we didn't make it because UT couldn't lose and put me in a pissy mood. Just grab a beer, sit back and hang with the guys watching baseball. I always want UT there but I can enjoy the whole week when I know we can't lose.

Do you care about the tournament/playoffs once your team is out? I usually don't. But I love college baseball and the pageantry in the SEC and I can take all that in when I'm not miserable. It's neat to see the "baseball schools" and how well they travel. LSU and State fans flood Hoover for a week and I'm envious we don't treat baseball like they do.

Thought we had a 95% chance of tying it up until that crazy play to tag out our man on 3rd with nobody out. Lordly, what terrible luck. Nothing else to say, ugh.

So it's like I dont have to get my hopes up we can go far because we're not in it.

Mostly not but since I love baseball I'll still watch it for other teams I want to see make it, unique celebrations or timeless dogpile, along with teams I want to see eliminated.
I'm most exited in soccer when I'm playing it not on the bench I have the same feeling when vols are in it.
Or I'll be happy if someone else wins something major in a casino but will I be as happy if I won it heck no.

Your still representing the big orange vols in Hoover and that bowlingreenvol is greatness. It's easy to show up and represent when your team has been a consistent very good or topnotch team but far harder when they've been in the mire, or when they get eliminated early.

You a great big orange vols fan. The vols shall rise from the abyss and be better next season with 15 to possibly 18 conference wins.

Well lsu baseball is to them what basketball is to Kentucky. I can't recall many seasons where lsu tigers have freakin stunk.
They make me think of the St. Louis cards. But not shocked vols have been stuck in the mire for so long far easier not to care than to get invested in something that has been in misery miry city.

Agree on all counts. The good thing is, this team should undoubtedly be back next year with a chance to do some damage. They've gotten a taste of Hoover and postseason play and will have the hunger for more. The close and disappointing losses should serve as motivation and a great teaching tool. I can see that 8-9 record this year in 1 run games move well above .500 next season. State and LSU were in similar situations before Cohen and Maineri took over (not nearly as morbid as us), but that experience and wisdom eventually carried over and State is now 7-0 in extra inning games this season and LSU has made several CWS. We're fixing to see the early Delmonico years on the Hill again.

The two guys who looked the most impressive yesterday were freshmen. That bodes well for UT. I fully admit I'm not a huge baseball fan. They got my attention during the Helton and Burke years. I feel for the people who have followed them like most of us follow hoops and football. I think Serrano is the real deal and will get them back where they were during various times of the Delmonico era.

The good news is LSU is pounding Candy's ass 8-1 in the 6th. So, their bravado and closing pitcher screaming like a maniac yesterday is some good karma. Scream some more Fulmer, ya punk.
