I guess we might as well go ahead and get one started. I haven't read too much info on the newest version coming out in September, but I'll more than likely pick it up. The have confirmed CHL teams in 2011 NHL 11 scores CHL teams - News at GameSpot and there is even talk about adding in NCAA hockey, not too sure how that will work out.

Coming Down the Pipe!: NCAA Hockey Video Game on the Way

"We've actually been in discussions with EA for a couple of weeks," Kelly began, "and while we don't have a formal announcement to make at this moment, we are certainly in discussions with EA Sports and they are very interested in having a college component to their game. We, the colleges, are very interested in having that happen and we are just currently in the process of figuring out what dimensions that aught to take. The answer to your question though is 'YES' just as there is going to be a CHL component to the video game, there will be a college hockey component as well."

Will be interesting to see what will be new with this one.

Of course, to be worth a damn online, we'll have to cough up an extra 20 bucks.

From OXM.......
"So instead of improving the game by, say, doubling the number of animations, "It's using physics," he shares. "It's not animation-driven."

During face0ffs, for instance, the position you take going in lets you kick the puck, push the opposing centerman, turn your back to him, or slap his stick. In earlier iterations of the franchise, you knew whether you won the faceoff the instant the ref dropped the puck. Now, your jockeying could lead to your not touching the puck at all, giving your wingers a chance to snatch the rubber instead.

The physics also give the development team the opportunity to execute on a feature fans have been asking about for years: broken sticks. What took so long? Littman clarifies that "we didn't want to do it until we could do it right." With real-time interaction replacing scripted sequences, shattered stick can get in the way of the play, obscuring the puck during a pass or hindering you while you're skating. As in a real hockey match, this situation adds an element of panic and strategy, which you can solve by grabbing a new stick from the bench, changing lines, or --our favorite -- passing yours to a stick-less player. Breaking the stick doesn't put you out of the play, either: you can kick the puck up the ice and even glove-pass to teammates.

If a downed defender is flailing madly, the redefined deke system lets you stylishly escape around him, and even OVER him, too."

You gotta admit that they handled a good bit of the glichers... I haven't seen nearly as many in 10 as there were in 09.

Swil u havent played as much as me the glitching is worse than it ever has been. Thats why u see so many teams use human goal. First couple of months in this game u would see HG once a week. We see HG 3 or 4 times a night if we play a couple of hours. EA has the making of a unreal game if they would just take out the money shots but people have been saying that for yrs not gonna happen.

10 is nothing like 09 was with glitching imo. I have only seen one pause loop glitch with 10 and there is only one shot that when done right, will go in everytime which is the shot right above either faceoff circle. With 09, you could curve shot from pretty much anywhere on the ice and you could manipulate vision control to pull the goalie away to score anytime in the crease. To be fair though, I played about 1500 club games in 09 and have only played little over 500 with 10, so that might have a little to do with it as well.

Care less about that i bet you sook could go to EA and within a few hrs show EA 3 to 4 money shots. The bad part is EA would say well just play better D on it and i can be stopped, it doesnt matter that 74% of the time you shoot it goes in just play better D.

i really hope they allow you to put point slots on NORMAL looking gear this time. If I wore a bright yellow helmet with graffiti skates in real life hockey, I'd kick my own ass.

If you're wondering what the new physics will be like, look to Fight Night 4....

"We saw the success that 'Fight Night: Round 4' had implementing the physics into their gameplay and the emerging organic gameplay it represented, really making every fight open-ended. We saw that and knew that's what we wanted for 'NHL 11,'" explains Ramjagsingh. "So we took one of the lead physics producers from 'Fight Night' and brought him over to our game and he's been working day and night getting this real-time physics engine into 'NHL 11.' And the great thing for us, when you think physics and hockey, most people think hits right away, and that's certainly a part of it, but it's really a foundation for all of our gameplay. I'm talking stick on stick contact, stick on puck, the way the puck hits the boards, and even the way the puck hits off the goalie and how if it hits off his chest protector, it's going to react different than when it hits off his pads."

Jump dekes!!

"If you played a lot online, you'd see guys lying down on the ice all the time on defense, and that's something you'd never see in real hockey because some guy would just take a slap shot to your head or step on you. So this year we added a counter where if you hold the left bumper and flick up on the right stick, you can actually jump over the guy. I've seen a couple of goals over the last few years where a guy jumped over someone and as he landed shot the puck and made it into the net. Those are the goal of the year, highlight of the year type plays and it's very cool when you see it in the game.
