Seeing as there are a plentiful supply of negavols here, I suppose I shall start a thread that supports Derek Dooley.

Now, why do I support Derek Dooley?

1. He has had 4 games to "rebuild" Tennessee Football. In football "rebuilding" years, this is virtually nothing. Would we immediately judge Phillip Fulmer or Johnny Majors as a failure if they started 2-2 back when they were coaches? Of course not. Its only because we have fallen so far since the late 90's that we are beginning to panic and scramble around madly calling for the head of every coach who doesn't deliver instant success.

2. Character. Its something Mr. K didn't have. Its something that builds a strong foundation for a Football Program. It keeps the NCAA from sniffing around for violations...why? because there aren't any violations to be found. Derek Dooley has character.

3. Work ethic. Its hard to come by in today's recipe for Instant Success College Football. Derek Dooley has work ethic. He didn't accept this job because it was easy. (Think about it, Tennessee was in a fiery fury from the departure of K-fail and coming off a so-so season under a coach who had faithfully served the University for years who had just resigned). Give Dooley credit for not backing down from a challenge.

I could go on, but I think you all can fill in the rest. I support Derek Dooley. Go Vols.

I never liked Kiffin, and I am glad we have a high quality coach like Dooley to bring this program back.

I liked Kiffin, and now I like Dooley.

I know it's going to be a slow turn-around, but I'm not so sure Dooley is the right coach. Only time will tell I guess.

He has a vision and a plan to restore this program. But it simply can't be done overnight, in year 1 or even years 2-3. It will take until the 2013 season to firmly reestablish Tennessee as a consistent SEC title contender. And if he isn't given the time, you can reset the clock for the next person that comes through the revolving door.

I honestly believe Dooley is here to bring stability to the program. I don't think the AD department expects him to bring UT back to the top.

Thank you i just don't see why people get on here and hate on Dooley. He took a job and knew it would be tough for a couple years until he got some recruits in here. He was left with a mess. And he hasn't complained or used it as an a reason for failure. With what he was left and the schedule we have i am glad Dooley is our coach. He wants to be here and i hope he is our coach for a very long time.

When Fulmer stop getting players like Manning,Henderson,Haynesworth,Lewis,Kent etc... people were like no big deal and now after years of mediocre recruting it finaly caught up with us.
