Would you consider buying your truck (you don't own any truck in this hypothetical) with no electronics...except minimal systems (maybe engine and / or transmission)? Hand crank windows. Toggle switches. Vaccum hoses for climate control.

If not, what's the minimum electronics you'd prioritize as must have?

I may be wrong, but I think Toyota is doing something roughly along the lines of what you just described.

I’ve got a ‘98 F-150 and it’s got everything I care about. A stereo/sound system upgrade would be nice, but that’s about it.
