The season is getting closer, and with that comes a lot of prediction posts throughout random threads. I'm doing this because I think this is the most direct way to check the pulse of VN as far as individual game match-ups go.

Of course reasoning and dialog is encouraged in the comments.. I intend to replicate this for all 12 of our regular season match-ups (and maybe a goofy one for the bye week). If someone beats me to it, that's cool, but let's try to keep some consistency as far as poll answers go.

I think it will be close late in the second quarter but Vols will start to stretch the lead before halftime. Tech may come out of the half with a little misdirection play and pull back into it for a series. Then Vols will start running downhill and win by 3 scores. That said, I'm going to have a mattress under a tarp out back just in case.

As mush as I hate to say it, I think we lose a close one to GT. I have a sinking feeling that our defense is going to be a little better than last year, but not enough to stop GT frim running wild. Meanwhile our offense just has so many question marks on how we replace about 98% of our production from last season.

Fair enough.

Dormady made me a big believer in the O&W game, he's got supreme arm talent. Behind an OL that'll actually know where he is 1.5 seconds after the snap, I think our offense will really jell with him behind center.

Defense, who knows, pssshh

What makes this thread "official" in nature? Asking for a friend. 😁

As others mentioned, keep in mind we will have the weekly pick contest threads, like we do every year, so I'm not sure we need two different score threads each week. It might get be a little confusing. Just thinking out loud.

I dunno, man. Take "Official" out of the title and replace it with "The Village Idiot's"...

I was hoping to do this more in the preseason, while we still have no idea what our team looks like against live competition.

Or you could just nip this in the bud, delete this thread, and we can forget it ever happened.

One thing's for sure, I ain't givin' out $300 in Amazon gift cards.:)

So you're thinking of making twelve prediction threads before the season begins? Two or three a week or something like that? Just trying to understand.

Yeah, or maybe like, all in one weekend or something. I just wanted to gauge the fanbase's expectations before we start the season. Then it'll provide something hilarious to look back on in November.

EDIT: Btw, if it's not cool (spammy, pervasive, annoying, or something else) to post 12 different polls like this in a short amount of time, let me know? I don't wanna break any rules around here.

Now I'm confused.

I always though I had a chance at a Gif card. Don't know what a Gif card is, so it made winning one more interesting.

So what you're saying is there are no Gif Cards?

I think we'll win by 10-14pts, I think Shoop will most likely shut the triple option down in the 2nd half like he did early last year. At least I hope that's what happens.

It may be old fashioned but don't sleep on the Triple Option.
It takes sound disciplined football to stop it and we all know how disciplined football went last season with more help

Not a rule issue, just thinking through what would be best. If you want to get score predictions for every game, right now, why not just ask for predictions of all 12 games in one thread? It might be easier for everyone to participate rather than trying to hunt 12 different threads and figure out which ones they posted in and which ones they haven't.

Just a thought. But however you want to do it.

It will kind of be like the Virginia Tech game early, then Tennessee will catch on to their option plays and hold them on defense. QD & JG will both play solid and Kelly will rush for 100 + .
