I was 8 and remeber the Oregon State game like it was yesterday. 13-13 tie in pouring down rain. Vols score 13 pts in the last 5 mins (all Streater) and a missed PAT to tie.

In 2003, Casey Clausen threw for almost 3000 yrds and had 27TDs. What was really impressive was his 143 consecutive passes without and interception.

In 1991 Tom Hutton was number 143 until it was changed to 43 after making the first team roster as a freshman walkon.

The Ole Miss game was a release valve for the season's frustrations. Mississippi wasn't much better than the 2-5-1 Vols, but to see Tennessee put a 41-17 drubbing on an SEC team was Bactine to burned Big Orange fans.

In 1961, Tennessee only completed 42 passes for 8 TDs. But, Mike Stratton caught 9 of those passes for 142 yrds and 3TDs.

Stratton would be selected by the Buffalo Bills and became a 6 time AFL All-Star and a member of the Bills Wall of Fame as a linebacker. He had 18 career Ints and 30 sacks.

On October 19, 1985, Keith Davis ran for 141 yrds as the “Sugar Vols” smoked cigars after a 16-14 victory over Alabama.
