Not sure if this has been posted....if so...just delete. Below is a link were you can go and register for a chance to download the beta for COD 4...next time they are handing out tokens is for 12 noon tomm.(Aug 27th)

Word is now they will have the site back up tonight, take emails for 24 hours, then assign them lotto style. The server took a dive today with about 20 min to go.

I woke up early to try and get a token but it went down as I was trying to get on....hopefully I can catch it on my cell tonight at work. Game looks real good from the vids. I've seen.

I am surprised. I don't know how many they were doing, but I never dreamed I'd get it. :)

I'll let you know. I'm 60% downloaded.

first feedback after a quick couple of games.

Controls and weapons are pretty similar to cod2 with a modern twist. I get the COD2 feel but the game is very different.

Graphics look very nice and I would describe the player movement and gameplay as very fast.

I guess in playing Gears and Rainbow 6, I really miss a cover system.

The game has a ranking system based on kills and experience points.

There didn't seem to be very many weapons but you may unlock them as you rank up. I think that may be the case. I found plenty of weapons laying around that I wasn't able to select.

I downloaded it the second I got the email and when I logged on tons of people had already ranked up to a rank of #11. So maybe they are sending them out gradually. :dunno:

one of my friends has been playing for over a week..he was in the first drawing..so thats how they're at rank 11..which is the highest for the beta.

I gotcha. I didn't realize their had been a drawing before tonight. All I know about COD4 is from this post. :)

it said you'd have to answer 3 questions at one time to get the token...guess they changed it....I think this game could be the next Gears on fri. and sat nights with my regular friends.

Do I have to register at the web site to get a shot at the game or is there something on Xbox live?

I don't think it's going to be the next Gears but I'll probably end up getting it over Halo.

I plan to play some more this weekend.

In fact, the first batch of tokens is being sent out immediately. Please note that tokens are being distributed in waves. About 10,000 people will be given tokens per day to slowly ramp up to the full amount while the beta game servers are being tested in every aspect.

Don't worry if you missed out on this Monday and Tuesday's Beta enrollment window. As we mentioned before, there will be plenty of opportunity to enroll in the Beta in the coming days and weeks through Gamespot.com and Gamestop, and potentially here on Charlie Oscar Delta as well.

According to the posters in the forum on the COD 4 site(the one at the beginning of this thread)...if you have a green star beside your name you have already gotten the beta or you will be getting it..I just posted and have a green star...hopefully I'll get it soon.:rock:
