Maybe make him the o-line coach? Our o-lines have been stellar( other then this year ) ever since he has been here. I honestly think for as much as he's done for this university, he should be allowed to stick around and do something. O-Line coach I would be very happy with, as good as his offensive lines normally are.

He's great at recruiting then, how about head of recruiting? No one can deny his recruiting ability.

No coach is going to be demoted from head coach to another position on the staff. He was offered to stay as a football consultant, which I doubt he'll even accept that position.

wouldn't surprise me if he took a year off then found another coaching job.

it would actually shock me. I have a feeling that once he is out of it for a year he will realize how short it all is. Take it easy coach and enjoy your retirement or go out and raise money to keep UT at the top

I think AD would be a good fit for him. I don't hate Hamilton though so I don't see the need to fire him right now.

If he doesn't stay clear of Mike Hamilton, he will be in prison for murder because I believe he would have strangled him at that press conference. He never mentioned Mike Hamilton's name when he was thanking the previous A.D.'s for the opportunity at UT. He is a very bitter man right now. I'm hoping his wife will talk some sense into him and he will stay a Tennessee in some capacity. But, I don't think Phil is finished coaching yet. He will end up somwhere coaching in a couple of years.

I would be bitter too if I just got fired, but hopefully he will realize it was for the best. The man bleeds orange and has been great for the University. I would love for him to stay as a consultant. I just don't think he will take a demotion of any sort and I don't know how the new coach would feel if he was still poking his head around.

To all of you who think that Fulmer would make a good AD....why? When has he shown the ability to make good decisions with the hirings and firings of assistant coaches? He loves UT more than anyone, but it takes more than that to make a good AD.

No doubt the man is bitter and deep down will probably never get over it. Honestly, it would be best for all concerned if he distanced himself from UT for a little while. If he wants to coach again thats what he should do and get it out of his system but after what I witnessed yesterday the worst thing for the program at this point would be for him to stay close. There needs to be a clean break if the new staff has any chance of suceeding. Not many new wifes want to be compared to the ex and damn sure don't want her living next door!

I think Sexton may try to put him somewhere. If he takes another coaching job does that lessen what we will have to pay to buy him out - like the other coaches?

I personally wish he would enjoy his retirement, stay in East TN, and speak at nationally events about playing/coaching at UT and the pride of being a UT Vol. Maybe reaching out to recruits from time to time couldn't hurt either.

Don't be shocked if Clemson or Auburn go after him. Especially Auburn knowing how bad the Bammers hate him.

What good did it do Ga having Vince Dooley roaming the halls?
