Last year I correctly predicted the d-line would be one of the best in the country:

Well this year I'm predicting the offensive line will be just as good. Just watching clips from practice and WOW the big boys on the o-line look mighty impressive this year. They are totally different physically from the soft flabby guys we saw last year taking their shirts off before the Ohio State game.

David Sanders does not look like a freshman. He looks like a franchise left tackle in the NFL. Lance Heard looks way better than he did last year. And behind them I see loads of depth.

Expect the run game to be dominant once again and whatever QB we have under center will look good thanks to our dominant offensive line in 2025.

On paper they do look amazing. If they can gel quickly they have a chance to be elite so I'm buying with you're selling

Saying you resort to hyperbole is an understatement HOWEVER...in this instance I actually agree with you. Aside from Cooper Mays the outgoing OL were not very good and that includes an injured Heard. Now with Heard healthy and a full offseason in the program he will live up to his 5* ranking. Then add in 5* Sanders on the other side and Moe and Pendleton both known for protecting the QB and you have the makings of a great OL. We need Satterwhite to take the next step for this OL to fully flourish.

Also been reading Bishop is a star RB just waiting his turn so a good OL can make that happen.

The RBs look crazy good as well. Bishop is a stud but the depth is crazy. Star Thomas looks good. Peyton Lewis looks like another superstar. And even the true freshman don't look like true freshman either. Both Duane Morris and Justin Baker look like grown men. 5 deep with quality backs is rare.

And let's not talk about the tight ends. That's another position group that looks impressive this year. Kitzelman is a known commodity. Ethan Davis looks much better this year physically. Last year he was a bit soft. This year he's rocked up. And the true freshman look like they can contribute. Van Dorselaer and Braame both look very athletic.

I know we have questions at QB and WR. But everywhere else on the offense I'm seeing lots of talent and depth.

Of all the groups that are unknown, this is the group I have the most confidence in. My only issue is locking down the Center position. I’ll be uneasy about that situation until I actually see it.

MAN, I sincerely hope you're right! This team could be great if the OL gives them time to run plays.

I am in wait and see mode for the entire O. Until they have the C position figured out, it won't matter what the rest of the OL does. I do like the way they seem to have attacked the offseason and trimeed up. Now can that translate into becomeing one OL together?

Besides, the list of returning DL looks like it could rival last year, as a unit. Bailey, West, Hobbs, Eason, Moi, Josephs, Herring, maybe Ross if he can get his feet under him, and a few really talented freshman in Campbell, Utley, and Dye and who people have been gushing over since their arrival.

What does Weathersby do? He looked good until he got hurt. Can Jamal Wallace play?

This years DL could be the shining star of this team again imo.

its hard to be worse than it was last year, especially in pass protection. Hopefully those guys have a chip on their shoulder. If I hear one more national pundit say that "we are replacing 4 of 5 starters on the o-line" I might lose it. We got two of the best guards in the portal with lots of experience and two five stars at tackle spots gtfo with that ********.

I think the d-line being elite again is a very realistic expectation. I'm excited to see if they can be even better. Last year we generated pressure but not many sacks. Hopefully this year we can crank up the sack numbers. I wanna see us dominating on both lines of scrimmage every game.

If our OL is that good, everything should be great unless our people just can’t catch lol

If you're dominant on both lines of scrimmage you'll win a lot of games even if the passing game is less than desired. That's how Saban won most of his national titles at Alabama. They just beat you up on defense and ran the ball. That will always be a formula for success.

Exactly, talent wise we are as good as I've ever seen. The question is continuity. If they gel fast look out. They gonna bully some folks

same deal with the narrative about how we have to replace the offensive player of the year. bitch we been replacing the offensive player of the year for 2 of the last 4 seasons and let me remind you we've *averaged* 2700 yards on the ground over the last 4 seasons.

Yeah, Saban had a few All American Wide Receivers too. Ruggs, Waddle, Metchie, Julio, Jeudy, Ridley, Cooper, & Smith. Kiffin & Sark liked to throw it too..

If had been the ONLY guy to predict the Vol DL would be great in 24 would have been something but he was in a very crowded room
They were also by far the best unit of the team in 2023 and returned pretty much everyone but Baron, so he wasn’t exactly going out on a limb.

Say, OP, are there any units on the team that aren’t going to be outstanding?

We haven’t had a good replacement for the 2022 OPOY to date.
