Literally.

I know most everyone thinks the offensive line is a weak spot, but at least they are big:

71 Dallas Thomas | 6-5, 268, So., HS

70 JaWuan James | 6-7, 320, Fr.,

76 Daniel Hood | 6-5, 260, Fr., HS

75 JerQuan Schofield | 6-6, 315, Fr., HS
74 Jarrod Shaw | 6-4, 332, Sr., 2V
60 Carson Anderson | 6-2, 267, So., HS

74 Jarrod Shaw | 6-4, 332, Sr., 2V
52 Victor Thomas | 6-4, 286, Sr., 2V
63 Kevin Revis | 6-4, 265, Fr., HS

77 Cody Pope | 6-6, 288, Jr., RS

52 Victor Thomas | 6-4, 286, Sr., 2V

From Volquest depth chart:

With that size they have the potential to be a really good group. Just YOUNG.

IIRC, D Thomas weighs a good bit more now. That was his weight as a freshman I believe.

You can compare the size of our line to every line in the SEC and it will be about the same. It's about talent and depth. Being big doesn't mean you're any good.

You're right, but the young guys are big and athletic. Also we weren't very big at all last year. Not compared to the SEC average. There is something to be said about big if the guys also have moves and these do. Schofield is a beast. Could have played DL with his athleticism. There's no secret about JuWuan James' athleticism. He can move like few his size. Future All-SEC, possibly A-A.

OL is still a weak point for us and we will struggle. But in a few years, maybe as soon as next year, we will be as good as anybody.

I'm excited about the young guys and the future of the line, but it's going to be rough this year. It's no secret we were undersized last year.

I don't think people realize how rough.

People like to complain about the Sullins, but now our options are guys that couldn't beat them out. Pope and Shaw couldn't get PT over them last year and Thomas was buried on the DT depth chart this time last year.

Then there is the frosh. Fulton and Stone aren't ready, but might have to be two's out of necessity. James could be a star, but it's never a good thing when you HAVE to start a freshman in the SEC.

Some people are blind.

I wouldn't count Fulton out yet. Pair isn't ready size wise. Stone isn't polished enough. But Fulton could contribute.

Yet Hardesty had a pretty good yr! That what confuses me (partly because I didn't get to see any games last yr) Everyone talks about how poor our line was and will be....but our running back put up some impressive #'s. Was he just a beast and ran over people? Surely the OL created some lanes for him.....?????

No question. Shaw is a guard that was playing tackle before the emergence of Douglas. When James Stone gets here he's going to have a tough time hanging on to that spot. I never thought I'd see Cody Pope get a meaningful snap. Give me that line over this one for sure.

You'd really take the Sullins twins over some inexperienced, and bigger guys?

Hmm..

Unless of course they take up the RAP game and pass up football altogether to pursue a career of gin , juice and ho's.

I think our o-line will suprise people. Who knows how hard these guys are working and who knows with the new o-line coach whom I think might be an upgrade from last years might be teaching these guys to be just some big nasties.
