Offensive line for Saturday

This is going to be tough to watch. Gotta hope these guys figure it out quick as a unit. From VQ

And the offensive line combination that's going to start is one that hadn't practiced together till Monday of this week. Trey Smith will play left tackle at less than 100%, Jashon Robertson is at left guard, Coleman Thomas is at center, Ryan Johnson is at right guard, making his first career start, and Devante Brooks is at right tackle. Brooks has never played in a college game. Brooks missed the his final two years of high school football with a torn acl, so brooks has not played in competitive football game since 2013. Yep, that would be his sophomore season of high school.

Did not know that about Brooks. That's crazy that a kid could miss his last two years of high school and still manage to get a D1 scholarship.

yea its not ideal that is for sure. However I am extremely excited to see Trey at left tackle

So coming into this season, we seemed to have more talent and depth along the offensive line than we've had in years. And now look at this unit--a complete mess.

I would think spread out the defense, roll your QB out of harms way, and let him run if the pass isn't open.

What happened to Nathan Niehaus, is he so bad that he can't beat out a guy that hasn't played in 2 years.

man, it's the Vols version of "plug and play", except it's "patch and play"...unreal...hope we can get a few snaps off without too many penalties...should be interesting...:)

Guys, this is going to be a tough game. So Miss is absolutely loaded, and I just can't see a way for us to win this one easily. We're all going to have to pull together, and the whole stadium is going to have to support the team and CBJ to pull this one out. Could be a great win for us if we can do it, though. A real season changer.

Johnson is a brawler. Brooks and Smith at tackles will be an upgrade. Will be a bit refreshing.
