This is what our offensive depth chart will look like in my opinion. I wasn't sure on any of the linemen other than the starters though. This is only with players currently here and committed players.

I'd put Bowles above Croom and Downs above Meredith, but that's about it.

I appreciate Carter's effort but Im hoping he isnt needed to crack the two deep.

Carter is a sure handed possession receiver. If you want first downs he gets them. That's how you win games right by moving the chains. Bet you won't see him having drops like Justin butterfingers hunter this year.

No offense to Jacob but he is about a useful to the football team as mcbee to the basketball team. Hunter and him are not even in the same realm of capability and production. I love a great story but Dooley was clearly looking for any browny points he could get with our fan base and team. If he is a major player then we have struck out in recruiting receivers.

I Hope those freshmen that redshirted last year are ready so he doesn't have to be relied on. Carter would never be the focal point of any defense.

Carter is Carter. He's definitely not ZR who has great speed and developed good hands. Welker is also fast.

Carter isn't fast but he's smart, disciplined, runs great routes, and catches the ball. Hopefully you have 4 or 5 guys above him that have those same qualities plus athleticism.... but the first two things a WR has to do is be in the right place and catch the ball. The OP seemed to forget Bowles. I would not be surprised to see him emerge this year as a RS Fr.

Crroom was left off...he will be starting at WR along with Howard and Dallas...Harris, North and Bowles will also be in the mix with Carter a 3rd down receiver.

Thought Posey was a tackle. Pair should be in the offensive line...Kendrick is a guard...

Hill will probably be a FB and CBJ could also move Fugate back to FB also if his offense has a FB...Tommy Smith was left out of equation...he is about due...

Bowles is a victim of his own lack of drama. His recruitment was quiet- he committed early and never really wavered. He seems to have stayed out of trouble and worked hard to get ready for his shot.

If that was the rule for TN's instate talent.... UT's recruiting situation would be much more like UGA's or Bama's than it is now. They get several kids like that every year as a foundation to build on.

I highly doubt that one of North/Harris if not both will not be in the starting lineup. We have to remember Croom was potentially heading for a position change, eventhough it was known we were losing two WR's.

Carter has done alot of work in the off-season also. Look for him to come through with catches. With or without break neck speed or "looking" the part. Just catching the ball when thrown his way!

jerry rice had 4.7 speed in college, but hands of gold. carter is in no way as good as rice, but he's got great hands and plays smart and disciplined (all qualities that made rice as great as he was). Carter will shine. He won't lead the team in receptions or anything but he'll produce. Also remember that he and Worley have great chemistry, so if Worley starts, it will only help Carter.

Carter will probably play more than any of us think. Possession receivers work well in the CBJ offense and Carter is a prototypical college possession receiver who will pick up tough first downs. Will he be a star? No. But he might catch 25-30 balls for 350-400 yards which would be a huge lift to the team.

I didn't leave Croom off? He was the starting left wideout. I didn't put Kendrick because I believe he will redshirt this year. And who is pair?

I Think Bransiel will be higher than that on the depth chart. He's a stud.
