Offensive Coordinator

We had nearly 700 yards with loosing 7 turnovers. All against the number 8 team in the nation. We were still in the game in double overtime. Play calling most def. not the issue.

Correct, but against a team that is averaging 500+ yards per game. Always look for the negative. Most "pundits" were expecting us to get blown out. So an undefeated season or bust, huh?

I was expecting about a 17 point loss.

So many injuries and our slow starts are what led me there. If they would have lost by 17 I would have not burned my couch and considering they came back and fought multiple times and took the lead and pushed it to double OT... I'm pleased as punch.

If you don't enjoy watching this team despite the fumbles and penalties it's a shame. You're missing out.

We actually started pretty well but the turnovers killed our drives. Kamaras screen pass was a thing of beauty but once again TOs killed us

I'm not putting the blame on him. I simply stated that the call WAS QUESTIONABLE AT BEST. We just have a bunch of thin skinned idiots who can't take criticism. Idc about the TO's in regulation or the penalties. I'm only talking about the last play, if you can't comprehend that, I can't help you.

OP starts a thread literally titled "Offensive Coordinator" but it's everybody else that doesn't understand what he meant so they're the idiots.

Wow

Out of all the times we see a run up the middle time and time again on 1st down, you finally choose to be bold on FIRST DOWN IN DOUBLE OT?!

I am proud of the team and their fight. But to get to that point in the game and that's what you draw up?

If it's 3rd or 4th down, okay, but it wasn't. That was straight garbage and can't believe these guys played that hard just to let it slip like that.

I realize the players made lots of mistakes, but that last play call was questionable at best.

Oh my that last sentence. "But that LAST PLAY CALL was questionable at best."

I wasn't even born in this country and have better reading comprehension/interpretation than you.

I actually see no fault in the coaching there. And I was extremely pleased with the play calling this game (finally!). And Dobbs' execution is getting better and better in the throw game. As his confidence builds, he is getting back to making some bad decisions (not falling on fumbles, ball security, and trying to force balls instead of throwing it away) They have to get the bone head mistakes under control, but I certainly do not fault coaching decisions. 700 yards offense is tough to criticize.

If the 7 TO's were the reason we lost then why did we still have a chance to win the game?

Oh bc the team never quit and CMD called a great game, except for the last play. I don't really care if your feelings are hurt. Don't fix what is not broken and our success was coming from running the ball.

Hey Roxycotton,

🐸😭

Look at my post above this one. Jesus this is like the liberal media one thing is said and turned into this and that and over that LOL

Edit: CMD called a great game, just not on that last play. Out of all the times we are conservative, that 1st down play was the perfect place for it and the exact opposite for a shot down field.

Hey people all I'm questioning is the last play call, nothing else lol

Feel your pain.....it was an terrible play to call in that situation and that's all there is to it....got hammered for saying it in another thread....thought I'd come over here to see how they were treating someone else....

But, it's worse to try to show anyone on here WHY it was a terrible call because of the overall football IQ on this board.

The double slants were open all day against aTm's defense....and especially those thrown to Jennings on the outside.....aTm's weakness on D is their corners...the slants attack the corners in those situations...

Calling that play when aTm had been running Cover 2 in the red zone ALL DAY is what makes it stupid....because we are attacking both the strength of the coverage and the strength of their secondary--their safeties...

:salute:

Sweet Jesus someone finally can interpret my post. I'm not mad. I'm not angry. I'm damn proud of my team and simply questioning the last play call. People bring up the TD to Wolfe against Fl and say "well if he would have caught it just like against FL you wouldn't be complaining."

I can assure you I would be. As you mentioned A&M might possibly have the best safety tandem in the SEC and that's saying something. 2) the Florida game didn't go into overtime meaning you don't have to worry about the game being over and LOSING if the pass is intercepted. 3) their DLine was TIRED, MG was hurting, and JK and AK were bullying through the middle of the line with EASE most plays.

As for the double slants I completely agree. Jennings had a few catches where he almost broke enough tackles to take it to the house. Thank you for actually taking the time to read a SIMPLE post.

I love this team.

I don't believe it was Debord or Dobbs. The receiver was supposed to circle behind the LB and come out in front of the safety to the right of the LB. The ball it throw while the LB turns so he can't see it. You've seen teams run this a thousand times. Payton made a living off of it. But our TE doesn't get there and he does not keep the safety off the ball. Makes it look like a Dobbs is an idiot. The tight end knows he has to catch it or knock it down no matter what. Not a great day for our TEs.
Since we had been running well it was a great call by Debord.

Thank you. Dobbs said after the game that there was miscommunication between him and Wolf that's not the play call geeze

Pretty sure the OC made the last play call. Which is the entire point of the thread.

Wow

Then perhaps your thread title should better reflect its subject manner.

At this point, you have to consider that maybe everyone else isn't wrong, and that perhaps you poorly worded your title and/or post.

And FWIW, I don't entirely disagree with you as stated in my post on page 2. Dobbs has to be smarter than to make that throw, but DeBord has to be smarter than to trust him in that situation with that kind of play call (see final play vs Oklahoma in OT last year).
