I know he did well against us. His defensive presence did bother us. Put him up against other players his size and he does not measure up.

He is not the player everybody says he his. Several Threads ago. Hard to do it from the bench.

Man he will go # 1 or # 2 in the draft. Memphis will select him if they receive the 1st overall pick, any other NBA team will chose Kevin Durant first

I know he will go 1st Round. Still not the Man every body says, He was compared to Russell give me a break.
They look alike but Russell had a presence on the court. Oden is just there.

Like it or not he will be offered BIG bucks from the pros after this year as a lottery pick. You can't coach size.

indeed. Why is it that every time Oden goes out of the game, tOSU is able to go on a scoring streak?

I guess he is so good, it intimidates the rest of his team while he's on the floor.

I know I'm a tad biased but... Durant is far superior to Oden. The broadcaster from today's game said that this is the first time Oden had EVER played someone taller than him. In the NBA, he'll face that each week.

When Oden is out, Ohio St. still seems to be a badass team. When Durant was out...uh, we (Texas) = not so good. As a matter of fact, we were downright awful.

Durant is better, but Oden will still go first and both will probably go down as two of the greatest ever.

Oden is not going to be the number one pick because of what he can do right now; it's all about potential. He's just 19 years old; he's still a gangly teenager. Imagine what a force he could be when his upper body fills out and he's spent a few years in the weight room. That's what has the NBA guys salivating over him.

Durant's probably a better player right now, but there are a lot more guys like him than there are true centers like Oden. If you've got the #1 pick and you think a guy has a legitimate chance to develop into an Olajuwon/Ewing/O'Neal type of player, you can't pass him up for a small forward, no matter how good a year the other guy had.

I have to disagree. Durant's game is just so far along for his age. Besides, there was noone in college basketball that is like Kevin Durant, and there aren't that many guys in the pros in the Durant mold either.

I have to disagree with that assesment. The NBA is loaded with Durant type players. As has been stated earlier, you can't coach size and Oden is a center that the NBA is short on. Don't get me wrong, Durant is a exceptional talent but he will be playing PF, not center.

Believe me, I do not intend to slight Kevin Durant at all. I expect him to be an NBA all-star. But there are a bunch of high-scoring power forwards in the NBA; Durant's an exceptionally good one, but they come along every year. A true center comes along maybe once or twice a decade. When you've got a chance to get one of those guys, you have to take it.

I kind of misread your thing. I was basing my argument solely on potential not draft pick. Oden will go first just because there aren't many 7 foot guys out there. I meant to say that now and in my opinion down the road Durant will remain the better player.

Durant is extremely talented, but guys like Oden don't come along that often. Everybody wants a huge guy that can play like him. I don't think anyone will pass on him, even though Durant is really better.

I'm looking forward to Shaq hammering Oden in the paint. Oden just thinks he gets away with fouling, wait til he feels Shaq's elbow in his jaw...

Shaq will be well into retirement by the time Oden hits his peak at 27 years old. Oden will be fine in the NBA. Oden has been getting hammered all season. I dont get where all this Oden hate comes from. He is a good kid and doesnt believe his own hype and you will never see him dancing in front of a camera after a diatribe of da rings and da wins. This thread is a joke.

Oden is as over hyped as the Ohio State football team that got dismantled in the BCS Championship game.

Ohio State is a better team with him on the bench. I think the media is building his size up too much. Anyone saying he'll be one of the greatest ever is nothing more than a hype junkie. He'll have to show me some differentiating skills for me to buy in.

Right now he is doing things anyone his size can do. Nothing special. At the next level he will consistently get outplayed unless he develops a lot.
