At this point, Butch must know where the bodies are buried or helped Currie get that hooker out of his trunk. It is the only logical explanation why Butch will be behind a podium this week coaching the Vols.

Will be telling what questions are asked. Do they continue to lob softball questions or do they smell blood and ask some of the questions all of VN wants to hear? We will soon know.......

All I know for sure is #emptyneyland will be a VERY real thing if CBJ is still with us come Saturday.

Question? Is it possible that the players do not want their coach fired mid season and that is the reason a change has not been made yet? Just maybe the seniors would like to continue on with a bowl possible. That is the only sense I can make out of this.

Yea why would seniors want a better coach to help them increase their odds of playing in the NFL or increasing their draft position?

If the team or seniors had this question ask of them it would be tweeted all over media land.

I still like the question suggestion from a poster yesterday..Just need someone to stand up and literally say "What the F&*% is going on here?'

If only the Knoxville media would put Butch on the burner like Florida did with McElwain. They hammered him hard in the Georgia post game conference. Will be more of the usual, softballs and slogans.

That's actually the very interesting thing here. The players don't seem to be standing behind Butch at all. We've seen players "dig in" with coaches before; doing everything they can to fight to keep the coach's job. If anything, we've seen Vols tweet stuff indicating that they want Butch fired, which is highly unusual. Which makes it all the more bizarre that Butch is still around.

In the grand scheme of things, I'm not convinced the timing really matters that much (we can't interview candidates till December anyway), but I'm also not convinced that a whole lot of good is achieved keeping a coach around a few more weeks when he's clearly going to be fired.

With as much noise that is surrounding butchÂ’s Job security. If none of the media ask him questions about his future ( like they didnÂ’t last week) then there is clearly a gag order. It would be inconceivable not to question about the elephant in the room again.

I really don't think Butch is the one who should be getting the tough questions at a press conference. Butch didn't hire himself and Butch isn't going to fire himself. The person who should be grilled is Currie.

The QB of the team has said publicly that he supports his coach. Not sure what you are reading?
