He had nothing but green in front of him, and he couldn't handle the pitch...that could have been a huge play.
It wasnt supposed to be a pitch though. Cal blitzed right up the middle and McNeil didnt pick it up and Ainge panicked and almost made us turn the ball over deep in our territory.

That is how I saw it. But I think the result was basically, don't let Creer back in there. I mean it was obvious we did not need anymore speed on the field.

That's what I was thinking. It was just supposed to be a handoff. I don't know if anybody could have picked the blitzer up though. He timed that perfectly and guessed the hole we were running through.

Among other guys as well because they spoke about Denarius Moore all this time and he had one pass thrown his way?

You'd think that since all they were doing anyway was this dink and dunk to the WR's for the most part, that they would put in the potential playmakers to run THOSE routes and catch THOSE passes and see what they could do after the catch.

Instead we ended up at the same spot where we started without knowing if any of those guys can play in a game. Trying to force it to O'Neal and Vinson, despite the interference, one or two times isn't going to give you much.

exactly.. and on the scoring drives, especially the first two, i loved seeing ainge just take small drops and deal it to shorter routes and march us on down the field.. but that has to end up opening routes that can be big plays

I'm glad our fans treated you well. Care to comment on the atmosphere i.e. compared to the sec. You guys like the stadium?

The Cal crowd was pretty loud for some of the bigger plays, but much of the night they were fairly quiet. Of course that could have been because the Cal fans were growing bored of seeing Cal score touchdown after touchdown.

The view of the sun setting through the Campanile from our seats was awesome. One bizarre thing was that a few rows up from us some large green tomatoes were (apparently) growing up from beneath the stadium. One of the UT fans picked a tomato and it was hard as a rock. Like I said, bizarre.

We stopped in to a pizza place to get a drink a couple of hours before the game. A Cal fan two people in front of us knew that we were Vols fans and bought our drinks for us. That was a classy move on his part. Another Cal fan was gracious to welcome us to Cal, as they said they had been graciously welcomed at UT last year.

Yea it could have been, but I don't think that was all his fault, Ainge got pressured quickly and launched the ball at him. Anyway, one sight of that and Fulmer reverts back to coaching scared.

Wait... is somebody actually blaming Creer for the quick pitch bu Ainge? Wow... It wasn't Ainge's fault or Creer's... they just timed the blitz perfectly and was in the back field before Ainge could take 2 steps. Ainge maybe should have just swallowed the ball, but he kinda got surprised on the play.

Creer had nothing but green in front of him? :birgits_giggle: :eek:lol: :good!:

Ok there, buddy...

It did look to me like Creer had a wide open hole from the blitz. You don't have to worry about such holes when you the blow the play up like they did.
