We never really gave Coker much opportunity Saturday. I really expected to see him used some more, especially at times when it seemed we needed a spark or something different, same with Chris Brown. Our offense played fairly well, but still seemed we could have done alot more. Maybe holding back for UF, I dont know. When we inserted Crompton, it almost went unnoticed, until over the PA your hear "at QB, number 8 Josh Crompton", I dont know maybe just me, but it seemed as soon as he said that the LBs from SoMiss immediatly adjusted from pass to run. One other thing, we seemed to be very "vanilla" on offense, doing just what we needed to do to score. I do think we did a much better job of making necessary adjustments during halftime this week.

Coker changes how the defense has to approach our team and we should put that pressure on the safeties. They can make a mistake with Foster on the field and catch up, not true with Coker.

Foster looks like he has lost some speed since he has added on weight this year. However, he is a much better back and is averaging around 6 yards per carry for the year. He is well on his way to a 1,000 yd season. Coker looked a little out of shape and needs to earn his way on the field. I think Creer will be our second choice to run the ball by midseason.

Coker will play when he can prove himself to be worthy off the field and his drug use is finally behind him.

USM was ready for a lot of plays to Brown and Coker is the ace in the hole for this game we will need his speed and a few plays that Cut has just for Fla.

I bet Coker only runs the ball maybe 5 or 6 times in the game. He will catch screens and hopefully get in on the KO's. Florida will probably be the fastest team we face all year. But will they be in position to use their speed is the question?

It would make sense for the coaches to have kept the playbook fairly simple vs usm...however, you won't ever hear me complain about a buck and a quarter rushing from one young man-that is a good sign. The run game not only takes some pressure off of ainge (although he has shown he can make those 3rd down throws better than most), but perhaps most important-it keeps our defense off of the field. I really feel like the running game is going to play a very important role against the defending national champs.

It always does. The team w/ the most rush yards usually wins. I think Foster goes over 100 again. Coker will probably get 20-25, Hardesty about the same and Creer probably less than that. I think Foster should be the feature back the entire season unless someone else proves it should be them.

I agree that foster should get most of the carries, and I hope he goes for 100 again. I don't think coker is ready to take over, he may be a bit faster but it's hard to argue with 6per

I think Foster has gained speed and lost some body fat.

I remember reading in the summer where he lost fat and gained muscle weight. I seems to be a little faster to me. Still slow, but has gotten a little faster, IMO.

No one ever said he was a scat back(ala Coker) but he is faster than ever before. He brought a return back to the CAL 25 yd line and our ST blocking is not great. He is not slow for his size.

His frame is built for him to be a powerback. Powebacks aren't meant to be fast but he is pretty quick for a big back.

Fulmer always sandbags till FLA WATCH OUT!! Freshmen are COMING!!!

Don't get too excited. As someone said earlier, he doesn't get the young guys on the field until after the Fla game usually. I could see O'Neal getting a lot more playing time though.

I agree that Foster is #1, but also think Coker adds something different to our gameplan, just think he should be used more, either he or Creer, doesnt matter to me, use all three if they perform. I really would like to see Coker and Creer returning kickoffs. Arian does not have the needed quickness, and if he is the number one guy, why take a chance getting him hurt returning kicks?

I totally agree, even though Arian is quick for a big guy, but definitely not as fast as Coker or Creer. What if we had a package where all three of them were on the field at the same time?
