and they are charging $5 a head?? We looked like CHAMPIONS in the O & W game last year and look what happened!! If we beat UCLA and stay in the game with Florida then we can say "results"!!

I am excited but expecting the worst and hoping for the BEST

also, i don't remember us looking like "champions" in the O&W game last year either. you couldn't really tell what we had. thats usually how most spring games are. they are usually not the defining measuring stick of how a team will do. for the most part you have your 1st string offense against your second string defense and vice versa. its hard to judge how good your play will be in the sec later that year just based on that. there's alot of mismatches that don't account for the competition that will be faced later on in the actual season.

Or you could view it as football in April, which is like Nectar from the gods...

Sweet sweet nectar...

Also, last season they pit 1st team O against 2nd team D to give false hope to instill confidence in the offense.... They're not doing that this year. Last year = fabricated. This year = real football.

Are you really complaining about the five bucks? You need me to send you $5 on paypal? Or I can ship you 5 on Full Tilt Poker. Better yet I think I can find that much in change under my couch cushions.

Jeez.

The $5 is going to the general university, not the athletic department. Maybe you read about how the state has clamped its arse down on UT's budget? No?

The last several years the Spring game has been an orchestrated joke. I am happy that it will be a little bit more exciting, and seriously, you are crying over $5? What do you think it takes to get that stadium ready for a Spring game?

The Orange and White game is just a scrimmage. It's like an NFL preseason game, not meant to be a measuring stick. They will experiment with players and formations. I can't believe anyone would complain about 5 dollars that is going to help the University.

Not this year. Coach Kippin said this will be a real game.

Yes, people going out to support the university and a team that they (should) love win or lose is "overrated."

I think you're right, the best way to treat this is to say "Hey, I thought you were gonna be good last year after going to this game! You fooled me! You sucked! Hogwash! I'm not going to come back out and support you until you win again!"

I'll say that spring ball is no way to gauge how a team will perform the following year, but i can think of worse things to spend five bucks on.

UFC is alright when they're standing up. All that man hugging on the ground is boring though.

It is chance to see the kids and staff in action. Also a chance to get closer to the players and staff. Something you can't get once the season starts.

I'll bet we have thousands of UT fans out of state that would be happy to pay $5 to go to the game if they could afford to pay gas or air fair costs just to get to Knoxville to see it. I'm glad I live just a short driving distance away.
