I'm hoping for OleMiss. That's basically the only team TENN can beat right now. If Vegas had our schedule right now...and knowing what I know now..I like 7-6 overall with 2 SEC wins w/a lame bowl win. One win shy of a retention of the Dudster. NCState will destroy us. Is the AD going to buy that game out?

Doesn't matter what our schedule is, we will win no more than 3 conference games.

5-7 SEC wins.

If we play Ole Miss (have not checked schedule)
Vandy
Kentucky
Florida
Missouri

Prob GA and SC too. The Dool-aid is still strong with this one.

I dont know man...Florida will be better and we'll have new staff. Advantage Florida..and Vandy...they'll be ready.

I wish you all would stop this nonsense. Everyone has to predict something as if you are nostradamas. I have an idea....lets just let the seasons play out and then judge them.

Nostradamas was a towel

Maybe not in order, but I think we can figure out the majority of next years schedule ... maybe?

Assuming the SEC sticks with the 8 game conference schedule and Missouri goes to the east as has been rumored:

Out of Conference
NC State
Georgia State
Akron
Troy

SEC East
Georgia
Florida
Vandy
Kentucky
South Carolina
Missouri

West
Alabama

That leaves 1 game from the West.

Well, thankfully LSU rolls off the schedule, as Ole Miss did last year. Arkansas was on the schedule this year and next, with Mrs. Sippi St due to roll onto the schedule this year.

I would think then, that we will play either Arkansas, Mrs. Sippi St, or Texas A&M.

So the schedule could look like this (obviously not in order):
NC State
Georgia State
Akron
Troy
Georgia
Florida
Vandy
Kentucky
South Carolina
Missouri
Alabama
Arky, Mrs. Sippi St, or TexAM

So, does Dooley get enough wins out of that schedule to stay gainfully employed at UT?

My opinion as of right now (opinion subject to change:))
NC State - looks like an L right now
Georgia State - W
Akron - W
Troy - W
Georgia - L
Florida - they are still better than us, 'til we prove otherwise, L
Vandy - one thing UT always does ... W
Kentucky - W
South Carolina - L
Missouri - probably a W
Alabama - L
Arky, Mrs. Sippi St, or TexAM - I can only see us beating Mrs. Sippi St out of the three

So, that's maybe 7-5, assuming we can still beat Vandy & UK, which I don't think we can assume any longer.

Personally, not being a negavol, but that ain't good enough to stay gainfully employed.

But what do I know. That's why they play the games, right?:salute:

I am pretty sure we won't pick up ole miss. We just played them two years ago. I think we pick up Miss. St, if we pick up another west team at all. I think our schedule will consist of UF, Vandy, UK, UGA, Mizzou, USCe, UA, Ark, NC. State, and 3 OOC scrubs. With that schedule, we should have the ability to beat vandy, uk, 3 OOC teams, Mizzou for sure and I think Ark. will not be as good, UF will still be struggling early in the year, and USCe and UGA can be toss ups if we are healthly and play good football. I can see 9 wins with 8 being more realistic.

Next season will be similar to what the last two (2) seasons have been like. Cruising around .500 as a winning percentage with anywhere from 2 to 3 conference wins.

We are officially well into the football doldrums at UT. I wish it were not true, but it is what it is.

What this means as to Dooley's long-term viability here I do not know. Losing to Kentucky sure put it on life support and probably means he is gone after next season if he finishes no better than .500 again.

NCSU will 'destroy us'? They are 7-5 and lost to BC. I live in Raleigh and see/read about them daily, not able to 'destroy us'.

Conference wise, here's what I'm seeing.

W's would be
Vanderbilt
Kentucky
(Mississippi State)

L's would be
Florida
Georgia
Missouri
South Carolina
Alabama
(Arkansas or Texas A&M)

We'll have to see who we draw from the West, but I seem to be one of the few who thinks we will have a good team next year. Give Bray/Hunter/Rogers/Oline this offseason together and we will have an explosive offense. If Wilcox is here, I'm thinking we will have a decent D, too.
