Usually when a kid commits - all the coaches chime in. But only Heupel did with a generic #gbo. I didn’t notice anyone else. Did I miss it all?

Golesh has. (currently 3rd post on his feed) I imagine Mack is just a bit tardy. A lot of your head coaches have an assistant who handles most of their social media posts anyway, so typically the head coaches are going to have the most active accounts on social media. Some assistants still barely use Twitter outside of direct messaging.

Totally agree. Seems committed to working and getting better each day. May be the 3 star steal of the recruiting cycle so far. However, he may see a significant rise in rankings this season…Will be interesting to see.

They tend to usually just tweet GBO, with the exception of Mike Ekler. I'd be more concerned if other coaches tweeted and the boss man didn't. This isn't one of those cases where a kid announces his commitment on social media before being given the green light.

That’s true in between the 20’s….. inside the red zone when defenses aren’t able to be spread out as much…we need someone that can fight for that tough yard or two.

The research I was referencing was actually about goalline rushes (3 yards or less to the endzone). Smaller quicker guys that could squirt through were better, especially with spread formation.

This offense still tends to get a fair number of guys out of the box even at GL. So many ways to beat people!!

With a decently short, quick, tacklebreaker the possibilities are amazing!

April 2017...

All Sports Training Center, located in Antioch, California has an amazing 6th grade athlete, Will Stallings, Jr. He plays football for the Pittsburg Junior Pirates’ Junior Varsity team. He also runs track for the elite track team All Sports Outlaws. Since training at All Sports Training Center, his speed, agility, vertical jump and all around athletic abilities are equal to those of a high school athlete.

All of Stallings’ hard work and dedication has landed him on the 6th grade Football University (FBU) team, which he helped lead to the championship in Naples, Florida. It was the first time a Bay Area FBU team made it to the FBU championship. With his outstanding play in Naples, he was scouted and invited to the Diamond All-American game in Los Angeles, California where he was the starting slot receiver and cornerback. With an all-star performance in Los Angeles, he was scouted for the Grid Iron Kings National Youth Showcase All-Star Game presented by DMAXX Sports in Dallas, Texas.

His trainer, who is also the owner of All Sports Training Center, says that Will is one of the hardest working 6th graders that he has ever come across. Expect big things to come from Stallings, Jr.

I don’t think that is very accurate but I am willing to look at the research….. I looked at the top 10 red zone rushing offenses and here is the breakdown…

2 at 185 or less both 4 win teams
1 at 201 wake forest…. Qb led team with 11 TDs but this is the weight of the best rb

1 @ 240

I do agree that spreading people out is as good or better but not that smaller guys perform better in those situations. Tennessee has a red zone issue… we were 69th in the country and 8th in the SEC….. improve those numbers and we have a shot at a 9-10 win season.

Like his tape but he does run a bit upright... Not sure about research but most guys good on the goal line tend to be guys that keep the pads low. There are exceptions to the rule (Eddie George) but for the most part that's how it goes.

Running with low pad level can be taught. If you watch our practice videos, they work on it in drills everyday.
