Under the radar re: Social media/NCAA: Enforcement has told schools that if a fan/booster tweets/Facebook's a recruit, that's a violation

So if you're going to do it, at least pose as a Bama fan.

Good luck enforcing that. It has now become my life's mission to be named in a LOA.

Yeah. Good luck if they are going to try to enforce this rule. They would have to at least increase the size and budget of the compliance dept at the NCAA ten fold.

I'll have to brush up on my acronyms before my trip to Indy. COI, LOIC, LOA, etc...

NCAA needs to mind they own bidness, imo. Somebody please tell me what's so wrong about 30+ year old dudes becoming facebook buds with dozens of 17 year old boys.

I'd like to see the NCAA try to enforce anything in regards to this. I'm not sure the 'AA would be able to prove the distinction between fan of player vs. fan of program in some cases. Even in those cases where it's obvious, I just don't see how the 'AA could punish a player or a program due to fan/booster interaction via social network...if they did, there wouldn't be a single program not in trouble or on probation.

Nice, but I personally don't see anything wrong with it..... IMO All of the people on scout and rivals follow them on twitter facebook for the same reason as most, to see who they are talking about, camps there
gonna be at etc. I think the people that complain about other peoples facebook must have got the "not now" on there friend request! Lol

I don't think it's a violation, and certainly don't think the NCAA has a prayer of policing it. Still, there's something a little sad about grown men following these kids on facebook and twitter.

so our coaches, all the people we look to for information that follows them are sad people? (there all over 35 too lol) I think what is sad is if a regular fan tries to be friends for the same inside scoop they are
sad sad old men.

I'd be more concerned about Chris Hansen than I would be about the 'AA.

Youre right they'll never be able to enforce it! Per TOS!
