The house settlement will not be in effect very long. There are already lawsuits being filed based on the details that have been released and some of that is being modified.

There is definitely going to be lawsuits based on the payments schools will be making to athletes. Some are not getting anything and others are getting a lot. That will end up being litigated.

There are lawsuits by walk-ons already in progress who are suing because they are losing their opportunities. The roster size increases and the fact they are getting scholarship players has created that.

I'm certain there are going to be many parts of the house settlement still going to litigation.

It seems like a waste of time to me, other than the aspect of the NCAA and the schools getting clemency for past antitrust violations. Congress is the only entity with the power to actually make any enforceable rules (or delegate that authority to someone else).

I agree... I think it drags for sometime. I don't think congress can even work together to solve this issue.. I think some members of congress have introduced some bills around college athletics but if they do anything, they will just pass a slew of laws addressing bits and pieces without solving the entire issue. JMO
