ok, im the negavol....

tell me what UT signed today that was unexpected or that we stole..
NOTHING..
The board is happy about a barely top 20 class???
I understand we "filled needs" but we also missed out on some undecided huge players that couldve filled needs.

all in all I like Dooley but this was by no means a recruiting win....

so if you don't land a bunch of uncommitted guys on nsd your class is a disappointment and 12 is barely within the top 12?

Sure, people were hoping for a surprise today and that didn't happen. But all things considered, I think the board is very happy with a consensus top 12 class.

I saw this posted earlier, and I agree - if Maggitt and Clear (amongst others) hadn't committed early, we'd all be thrilled right now with their LOIs.

Can we get an IQ filter on being able to start a new thread. It must be the same fascination that forces people to believe that winning the press conference is the most important part of a new coach. Since we didnt get last second/NSD/fliparoo commitments it makes our class worse. If we got the same players but 3 or 4 of them had been committed somewhere else and flipped to UT today people would be so excited. As Dooley said, they dont throw hot sauce on them. Thats not the recruiting process for Dooley.

An explanation of how wrong you are really would be a waste of time, so I will just say this:

G T F O!

10th on Scout, 12th on Rivals, and 17th on ESPN.....FYI, that's an average of 14th.....which is still closer to top 10 than top 20....just sayin

Some people are never satisfied. I think all the big news over the preceding 24-36 hours is what had everyone (myself included) fired up for a shocker. We got a great class, by any measure. GBO!

Maggitt was a SURPRISE. he's the Da'rick Rogers of 2011..

AND Richardson stayed home instead of going with Richt's "dream team".

I think it's a SOLID year 2 base to build from -- only going to get better, quit ONLY seeing the negative, there is MUCH to be positive about.

signed
- former "dooley-questioning" now "dooley-supporting".. Brian LaRose, Atlanta GA

How is beating out bammer for Richardson and Clear, beating out Florida and Wiscy for Maggitt, and beating out Miami for Moore disappointing?

I can't get over "fans" like this. I mean, UT has had 3 losing seasons in the past 5 years. I think having 3 straight classes at or near the top 10 is an amazing testiment to the UT football program.

I went into today thinking that getting Richardson and one of either Dawson or Wright would be a good final day, so it was mildly disappointing for this one day. But if Moore, Maggit, and Clear were all undecided coming into today, then it would have been a huge day, and we are in the same place either way. Signing day is just one day out of a multi-year process, and when you look at the class we brought in, it's a very good one. Given all the turmoil we've had, our record last year, and the way the Tennessee brand has been diminished the last few years, this was a very solid effort by Dooley. This is steady progress by an unproven staff, and it should be very encouraging to UT fans.

We could have signed Dawson and Gabe and people would still ***** and complain we lost Jernigann.
