What do you think the changes will be. We can't just drop one out of conference game and replace with them the same weekend. All conference teams will be re-worked. I will be interested to see. Would love to move Ky earlier in year and move UF back further

When we become a 16 team league, this is exactly what will happen. So however the schedules are reworked, they will be reworked again in a year or two. And I would love to play Florida later in the year!

Let fla come here and freeze like we go there and sweat. Ihope we do a better job of playing a more balanced sched. Like playing bam or lsu after they play a tough game.

Is missou a good team? will we be able to beat them consistently in football? or is it a tough one?

i wish we would play florida first or second game of the season, so if we lose we have a longer time to catch up after a loss and work our way back up the ranks.

Or around about the time for them to suspend a few key players...

To me Missou is a USCe type team. Good not great.

They will be in the East, so we'll have to play them. The real question is whether the SEC goes to 9 conference games or not.

John Pennington (Mr. SEC) reported that the SEC is against going to 9 games, but there's really no other way to go about it. The SEC doesn't want to feel the wrath of Alabama- Tennessee or Alabama-Auburn if those games aren't able to be played annually.

Yeah I'd say around USCe to early-sec Arkansas level, pretty good but not great...but still plenty of potential to grow like arky (and even USCe has grown as well)

Seems like MO should be placed in the West with either Old MS or MS State being moved to the East. Just my humble opinion...........

Yes the coaches are reportedly against expanding to 9 games at this point (they will have to eventually, though, by 2016 or 2017 all the other major conferences will do so)

Right now it's expected 8 conference games, still have your yearly cross- divisional opponent (Tennessee-alabama for example) and one based on some rotation of opponents from the other division (either the same home and home rotation, or just an alternating rotation of opponents)

What's curious at this point is how the SEC will decide missouri's yearly western rival?

Will it just be Mizzouri- Texas A&M? Will there be a swap so we see mizzou-arky and USCe-Texas a&m?

Or is there any truth to the (much, much lesser rumblings) of a major swap being pushed for by UF and LSU to create mizzou-arky, UF-A&M, and LSU-USCe?

I would venture that Auburn would be moved from the west to the east to make room in the west for both A&M and Mizzou. If the SEC is against a 9 game sked of 11 in-conference games, I could envision an 8 game sked with teams in their respective divisions playing the other schools once and one game versus a rotating opponent from the other division. The eighth conference game would be a game against a traditional rival from the opposing division such as: Tennessee-Alabama, Auburn-Alabama, LSU-Florida, etc... This would enable to SEC to retain its current 4 game OOC sked to help it garner 10-11 bowl games per year. Who, outside of Auburn, would be a better fit in the east?

I would have been fine with that but it seems it either upset ole miss/ miss St presidents or several conference/school presidents didn't like the idea of the move

Would have been nice to see ole miss play UT each year though

No...they'll consistently be like we've been for the last 4 years

Auburn in the east means UT vs Auburn yearly. Been awhile.

We'll likely see one of the rotating west teams removed and replaced with Missouri (would be home v Arkansas or at miss St I believe)

If the order changes up or not though, who knows

But I doubt you see much change to teams who traditionally play at a certain time of year

If I'm not mistaken the article says Missouri is coming to the east. Already decided

LSU and UF need to continue to play each other annually. Florida does not need an easier Western opponent like A&M. We have to play Bama, Florida should have to play LSU. Auburn should have to play UGA. Those are traditionally the best 6 teams in the SEC and nothing should change.

Additionally, we should not want A&M to play UF annually b/c it would give each school more exposure in states laden with D1 talent. They already have enough talent in their own states.

As a Tennessee fan, I am looking at every move in regards to what works best for Tennessee and our athletic department. Our fanbase should really be doing the same thing. Having Auburn not come over the SEC East was a win for UT.

Here's a good map to show what the conference will likely look like. I don't think they have officially stated that we will be in the East but that is what everyone seems to be expecting. FWIW Arky would be fun for a cross division rival but I'm pretty sure Missouri wants it to be A&M to help keep our Texas recruiting alive. We have 30 players on our team from the state of Texas.

I know myself and a lot of other Mizzou fans are really looking forward to joining you all in the SEC and I'm thrilled that it is going to be next season. Waiting another whole year in the Big 12 would be brutal.

As for 8 or 9 conference games either one is fine with me. I'm just glad we are here. If nine games doesn't happen next season it probably will sooner or later though. The Big 12 and Pac 12 already are playing 9 game schedules, the Big Ten is set to start a 9 game schedule in a few years, and with the ACC going to 14 members I think they will as well.

Staying at 8 games, and Missouri will be in the east.

The only change you'll see is for teams in the east, Missouri will take the place of the SEC West team the was scheduled to rotate onto everyone's schedule next year, ditto for A&M in the west. You'll now play your permanant rival and only one other cross-division team each year.

Welcome, MissouriFan. Happy to welcome Mizzou to the SEC. Have enjoyed Columbia and the game weekend experiences there previously. I think y'all are a great fit. It may take other fans some time to understand and adapt, but eventually they will get it.
