Now it gets interesting

Great post, OWH. It is nice to have reason to be optimistic about our chances in the SECE. IF we play like we did Saturday, there is no one left on our schedule that we cannot beat.

It is good to have hope again. Go Vols.

Wether it was coaching or playing off the negativity of the article or alien abductions, they looked like a different team Saturday and I for one like this team a whole lot better....GO BIG ORANGE!!!!

Me for two there Jr., It's been a couple of quality days...

A lot of T-E-A-M this year. The players seem to have a better than usual rapport with the coaches and seem to care about what's happening with CPF.

Spot on with the comment about inconsistencies and all the "should'a, could'a" that the point brings to my mind.

Time will tell. I'm hoping this game will be a momentum builder for a young team and they continue to encourage each other and improve.

I too liked that the players wanted it so much for their teammates and coaches. Others do too of course. But post game had a feel that has been missing for some time. Wasn't on the strip afterwards, but I have too assume it was rocking as well.

I hope time will tell us we are in the Championship game again. Too much ball yet to be played though...

Couldn't agree more Vades. Still. I worry. A lot.

Great post.
Believe Pennington's article challenged this group of players to play Tennessee football against GA and hopefully for the rest of the season. I would love to hear that Pennington's article is taped to every player's locker.

But now we know the players can play it is up to the Coaches to show us they can still coach.
good Lord, i hope that's not what did the trick, otherwise CPF"s magic dust theory is starting to look pretty plausible.

if they really needed some two bit KNX blogger/reported to "challenge" them, then i'd contend the situation is much worse than it seems.......

they may have noticed it. they may have read it. but i can assure you they weren't on the practice feild yelling "you show that John Pennington"........gimmie a break.

don't believe I said anything about the players yelling on the practice field.....but ugh thanks for your assurance they weren't

But the article stated former players were making remarks about what was happening in the weight room, at practice and on the field. The challenge came from the former players not Pennington....

good stuff OWH. very different vibe, here, in the nation this week. we all have the same little jittery feeling that we are afraid to indulge in. i don't believe that energy and emotion are gonna be lacking the rest of the year. we have tasted gravy, oops! i mean blood. sorry, i'm hungry. dinner time. like i said, good stuff OWH

Well said OWH. You make a great point and one that I have been wrestling with since just after the game. We saw on Saturday the potential this team has had. It decides to show up in the fifth game? That is coaching plain and simple. Fulmer is going to have to keep that going for the rest of the season or there is still great potential for major change in the end.
