Chubb better than Hurd? Fournette is more explosive than either Hurd or Chubb. Chubb is a more punishing runner than the other two. Still worry about Hurd's durability and even rounder if he can finish this season and avoid surgery. Long term as for NFL future I still believe he becomes an outside linebacker. I see a good sec running back....Ced Houston when I see Hurd. Lacks big time speed. Could get in weight room and become Brandon Jacobs type. We shall see but jury is still out.

Still concerned about Hurd.

I want him to be a great back, but I haven't seen any flash to indicate he is.

That said, Fournette, Chubb, Gurley, Jim Brown, etc....would do nothing behind this line.

Hurd is better than I envisioned, have to eat crow here. He is a damned fine RB, thought he would struggle first year with his style, I was wrong. Kid can ball.

Jury is out but he is a freshman behind a horrible line. May not be made of steel but he's still playing right now? Technically hasn't missed a game, and the one he kind of did was against UTC...big whoop. Idk why this is a thread

I wouldn't trade Hurd for anybody...He is every bit as good if not better than LSU boy...If he had the o-line that kid runs behind he would have more big runs this season.

Hurd is solid and is going to be a great RB but I don't think he is going to be elite due to his lack of a second gear in the open field. He did get run down from behind by a UGA linebacker on one of his longer runs.

Hurd unfortunately has not shown the breakout speed I had hoped for. He has shown more power than i expected and has made every tackler earn it. I think with a pretty good offensive line he would be up there with Fournette right now. he juat does not have any room at all so far hence the 2-3 yard avg

I agree and think Dobbs has no second gear to speak of either.

How can we judge 3 true freshman through 6 games on 3 different teams? I'm sure Hurd would love to run behind LSU's or Georgia's line. I think all 3 are going to have great careers.

Let me see, LSU had the preseason number 1 rated OL and we had the worst or second worst rated OL....wonder if that makes a difference.

And yet Hurd is on pace to get somewhere north of 750 yards, could be over 1000 with a true breakout game, behind this oline. And he hasn't shown you people anything?

Hurd is doing great our O line hasn't been this bad since the 70's and if lane didn't get as many carries as he did in the first few games Hurd would havevtwice as many yds as he does now. Hurd is nowhere near fully developed and when he does, watch out cuz it is gonna hurt the other team he will prolly put on another 15 pounds and then u will see his speed and power. Fornette is good, no doubt, but lsu o_line is far superior tobours. We need about 5 jack jones types to block.
